Myst, one of the most popular PC adventure games from the 1990s, is coming to the Nintendo 3DS. Myst was one of the titles that showed what CD-ROM technology was capable of bringing to video games when it was released in 1993. Hoplite Research, who previously ported the game to the Nintendo DS and PSP, will be handling the port.
Maximum Family Games will publish the port, titled Myst 3D, and it will be released on March 27, 2012. The original PC version is the version being ported, and RIME Age, a location that was added to the 2000 release realMyst, will also be included as a bonus.
The DS port of this game was awful, so excuse me if I'm not too excited about this one.
So... static or slightly animated pictures with 3D enhancements? I dunno about this one either honestly. Myst was awesome only because it came out in the 90's. People had never seen this kind of thing before. It's not really a game you got back to play again today I don't think.
Never played Myst myself but when I do, probably won't be this version.
Does anyone still care about Myst? It was cool in the 90's, but now it just seems quaint. There are plenty of better games in the genre nowadays.
