My trek through the 90s starts tomorrow, but what the heck. I decided to break up each year into multiple blogs to cover more games and make it as fun as I can. Here are some arcade games I wish I had played in 1990.

1941: Counter Attack

This was the third 194X game by Capcom. It's on many Capcom collections. Easy to find.

Castle of Dragon

I love those beat 'em ups. Technically released in August '89 and the NES port in '90, but what the heck. It's also out as part of Arcade Archives on PS4/Switch. I can't wait to play it.

Crossed Swords

Well, actually out in '91 after some research, but whatevs. It's an SNK arcade hack and slash and available now as part of the ACA Neo Geo series on everything. I need to play it.

Fire Shark

Toaplan's sequel to Sky Shark (Flying Shark outside North America). I've played only the Genesis port, which is good. It's also part of the two volumes of The Toaplan Collection available everywhere.

Parodius

Konami released this cute 'em up and its numerous ports and in collections like everywhere but North America. It's the second game in the series. I'd jet set it to the U.K. back in '90 if I could just to play it.

Smash TV

Williams didn't release many video games but what they did was excellent. This twin-stick shooter is a bit like their Robotron 2084 from '82. It's on numerous Midway collections.

And that's a messy collection of arcade favs from roughly 1990.

The arcade game on your list that really stuck out to me was Smash TV. I saw it everywhere in arcades back then and my best friend and I would play it all the time. I even rented it a few times on the SNES so we could play it at home.

Crossed Swords looks really interesting. It's like the light gun game of fantasy brawlers.
