I've been without a car this week which has made it hard to get to MK's for gaming, but I managed it one day by bus. Here are the results.
Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction - At level 15 of 20 in the Verdigris Black Hole. I got stuck fighting the boss in the space ship Aphelion. I guess I was stressed about my car and my patience worn thin because I quit after a trio of fails. Those darn laser lines you have to dodge kept stripping away my health. I'll go at it again sometime. I absolutely loved this game.
Red Faction Guerilla - I must've bought this when I couldn't find a copy for 360. I have that now and did a unsuccessful playthrough a few months back. I didn't feel like revisiting it so soon. I'll probably trade it now I have a 360 copy.
Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution - I thought I'd play it again on PS3 for Trophies but discovered this came out in '08 just before Trophies were implemented on PS3. So no Trophies. DIdn't matter, because I love this game and played one of the scenarios through to a Domination victory with Ghengis Khan. I have a weird fascination with building roads between my cities. It's like, conquest is only so I can build roads and watch troops, settlers, caravans and spies travel them.
Motor Storm - A good off-road racer, choose between all sorts of vehicles and bump and grind around wide open, windy tracks full of jumps and obstacles. I was just not in the mood for it. It's fine but a little more active crashing into opponents would have engaged me more, like more Burnout style.
PixelJunk Monsters - This has been installed on my PS3 for ever and I've played it many times. I jumped back in and tried all the special missions, failing every single one of them. I even failed after a few levels in single player on Regular difficulty. I must've forgotten all my strategy in this tower defense game. I don't mind though because my favorite part is just building towers and watching the carnage. I think I'd just enjoy a building sim instead more.
God of War Origins Collection - I got these two PSP games for $10 on PSN, but I kept having DSN errors and disconnects as I tried to download them. Usually the DSN error corrects itself with a reboot but this time it kept losing the connection every ten minutes or so regardless whether I was streaming youtube, downloading or just playing a game. I hope this doesn't continue because it's very discouraging. I might have to do some troubleshooting. Maybe it's just MK's internet connection but he never lost connection on his XSX. In a way though, it doesn't matter much because I continued playing offline without any problems. I may just watch the download next time and see if it comes down without interruptions.
I continued on with the first Borderlands, used Roland for my character, and took an attitude that I was going to use the turret special ability as much as possible. I only got a few missions in before I had to stop for the day. I'll be continuing it, and hopefully getting trophies, next time.
I'm off work 'til next Friday on a supposed vacation, but without a car, it's a pretty muted affair (lots of walking too). Still, I'm near both bus and train routes so I'll manage.
Next time, back to 80s gaming with the year 1985.
I just finished Garfield: Escape from Monday which I actually liked. My review is up at GamerDad. So now I'm going back to playing LEGO Batman, which is also good.
Garfield's a pretty active guy in that game considering he's a lasagna chomping, couch potato. Are the vegetables angry and trying to get him in that game?
I'll play that Lego Batman one of these days.
Garfield complains about having to run around so much in the game. :)
That makes sense.
