Just a few this week because I spent a lot of time with the first one below.
Diablo III - I finished the main story with a Demon Hunter, now level 43. I thought I'd stop there for now so I can get to my other games, but I was sorely tempted to just keep going for a much longer time. The game always feels new even with a character you've played before because there are so many different builds you can do with your abilities. I focused on acrobatic vaulting, rapid fire dual hand-crossbows, caltrops and the occasional rain of arrows. I slowed them, vaulted away to a good distance and then let them have it with a lot of ranged attacks. It worked so well I was only seriously challenged a few times with sudden appearing elites and the last few bosses.
The story is heavy epic and I couldn't help making it more so with my ridiculously over-the-top dramatic readings of the text and even over top the existing voice work. I know the story pretty well already from the many plays I did on Xbox systems.
MLB The Show 2008 - I didn't want to play this sim, but I got it because my local team's hero was on the cover, The Philadelphia Phillies, Ryan Howard.
I believe they won the World Series that year and Ryan was they're heavy hitter. I'm not following sports right now, but back then I did and knew all the players.
Zen Pinball 2 - I never actually played this sequel back in the day because I was over on Xbox playing Pinball FX2. Same developer for both. My first experience with pinball on consoles was the first Zen Pinball on PS3, but then I ended up spending more time on Xbox 360 and didn't even notice the Zen Pinball sequel. But, I downloaded it this week, bought the Doctor Strange table and played it a bit.
Good stuff. I'll redownload the first Zen Pinball later on and try and transfer the games I had there to the sequel. It seems like that should work. I'm just glad I could still get tables for Zen 2.
Purchase
Today I picked up a replacement copy of Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction ($15). I hope this one will play and it should. I'll have to wait until I'm done with Ni No Kuni I'm playing right now though. I'm in the thick of that and it may be weeks before I get a chance to test it.
I miss reviewing the Zen Pinball games. That stopped when they went to a subscription service.
What a mess. It was going so strong and now I have no interest in Zen or FX. Pinball FX3 was my favorite. I wish they had just done improvements on that formula.
