So it’s about time I kicked myself into gear as a Community Manager and got you all involved in something here on PixlBit. I’ve been working on things in the background, but so far it’s been a bit hush-hush until November or December comes around. But in the meantime, something else has been brought to my attention; next week is the 30th anniversary of Transformers!
I can’t say that I will be doing much, because I honestly don’t know that much about Transformers. But the lack of knowledge can possibly be my strong point! Perhaps I’ll look into doing a Let’s Play of one of the Cybertron games (Suggestions anyone?). Or perhaps I’ll just work on a couple of pieces and blogs in regards to my memories of Transformers as a whole.
Needless to say though, my impotence in the world of Transformers is where I need you all to help out. I can’t do this by myself, so I would love for you all to help out in any way possible! Write a blog about Transformers as a whole or about a particular Transformer that really tickles your fancy in all the right ways! Maybe upload a picture of your old school Transformers toys that you have stashed away in your attic? Maybe you want to draw some awesome fan-art and upload it for us all to see? Do you have a capture card? Well, you should look into uploading some gameplay footage! Or even if you don’t know a thing about Transformers (much like myself), then you could simply write a blog about how you wish you knew about Transformers.
Just remember to use the tag #Transformers so we can compile everything into a massive piece dedicated to a franchise loved by so many people.
I thought that I was done with homework...
You can opt in or opt out bud, no pressure!
This is probably a perfect opportunity to pull out my copy of Transformer: The Movie.
Make sure it's the Australian version with BOTH dirty words in it.
Hold it... There is more than one dirty word?
Yes! It's the version I saw in the theater.
Oh my... I do not know if I can sit down and watch this filth anymore.
Eight year old me thought it was awesome!
I love the Transformers, they are pretty awesome and glad the idea did get a greenlight. Looking forward to seeing some of the TF blogs here. Question, how do you tag blogs? do you just add the # at the end of the blog or is there an option for that cause I haven't seen it.
As for the games, War for Cybertron is pretty good, I'll play with you if you have/get it on the PS3. I call dibs on Optimus Prime though lol
I grew up with the cartoon's in the 80's, but I have to say that G.I. Joe was more my favorite show. I didn't care at all for the recent films, but I am excited to see what the "Dino-Bots" will look like in the new movie. Assuming rumors are true about them being featured in the next film. Dino-Bots were my favorite transformers. I actually liked the Beast Wars CGI cartoons that were made not too long ago as well. That's it from me.
Sounds like I'm in the same boat as you, Chris. I watched the Beast Wars cartoon a few times back in the '90s and I've seen the first movie but that's it lol
I was pretty big into Transformers for a couple of years as a kid.
I recommend trying the Fall of Cybertron game that came out last year. It was one of my favorite games of 2012, surprisingly.
Well, I missed out on the cartoons in the '80s (I wasn't living yet). I've seen the three movies (terrible, that's all I have to say). I can't contribute much, maybe some art, but that's all I could do. Can't wait to see what everyone does though!
I guesse its up to us old timers to enlighten the youth here on the wonder and glory of all things cybertronian. I have been a fan since I was 5 years old when they first came out. I've been looking for something new to write about, hope I can offer a worthy contribution to this project.
This. Watching the pilot of the original cartoon is my first memory. Time to bring the knowledge, Gemini!
