It's happened to all of us, well the music lovers anyway. We boot up a game we're excited to play, settle in for the opening few moments, and at some point the game asks us to do one of the easiest things in the world: Press Start. And the music is so good, we just can't do it.
Plenty of games have done this to me over the hears, some new, and some old, so I figured I'd just share those with you guys on this week's Digital Mystery Tour...
Dude wait, what?
Yes, I said Digital Mystery tour. We had to change our name. It's nothing serious, but I'll discuss it on the show, so if you haven't already, press play!

So glad you Included the Last Story here. It had some amazing start menu music.
gotta say, I do have a soft spot for this one:
I like that too, and like Julian with his attract mode, I have another one of these planned for the more rockin' tunes. I was sticking to more emotional, melodic stuff for this 'cast.
To this day I can not play Secret of Mana with out letting the title music play all the way through. It just totally sets the mood for the game. And the title song is just one of many gems in the soundtrack.
Please don't smack me, but I haven't played Secret- but I've played Legend. When I was a wee Dandichu I used to fall asleep to the music. :3
Although its completely different in style from Secret of Mana, the soundtrack for Legend of Mana is one of my favorites. I'm pretty sure Secret of Mana is on the Wii virtual arcade. Its just one of those classic must play games .
This is a seriously awesome compilation! My god does Secret of Mana have a truly beautiful soundtrack, and Symphony of The Night's atmosphere is incredible.
The music of the Elder Scrolls series never disappoints; I got the 4-disc Skyrim soundtrack this past Christmas, and it is amazing.
I was wondering why I missed the transition from KH to Xenoblade... having the same composer probably had something to do with it. I absolutely loved them both, I have played KH but it was such a long time ago I did not remember that song.
Great selections! Yoko Shimomura is definitely one of my favorite composers. Dearly Beloved from KH makes understatement an artform. I always thought that the menu music from Star Fox 64 is one of the most relaxing songs ever.
