Introduction

Final Fantasy is 25 years old! With Square Enix celebrating all year long through various events, game releases, and products, we decided it was the perfect time to take a look at the RPG franchise that brought us moogles, chocobos, and spoony bards. Considering that each major console generation has had three games released for it, we’ll be breaking down the entire series from I-XIV. Enjoy our first installment with The Famicom Years!

Even though we didn't really get II & III until just recently in revamped forms, I think the first game was strong enough to provide a foundation to last until the SNES games came along.  Although I've only played select entries in the series, I have completed the first game possibly more than any other game out there.  There are fans that continue to devise interesting new challenges (e.g. single white mage playthrough) and people like me that just feel a need to play through it again every few years.  A truly great accomplishment.

You can check the box besides "Remember Me" on the top left of the screen, so it keeps you logged on. Sorry for the inconvinience.

I've played all three, they're all good games in their own right. In fact, all of these games are considered classics today. Great article!
