This week brings the return of a long-lost podcast, PixlTalk, with an all-new cast and format! Join Nate and Jason as they kick of the beginning of this second volume in style.

This week's episode centers around remembering Hudson Entertainment and all of Hudson's games over the year. Nate and Jason name some favorites and discuss some fond memories, particularly with respect to the very first Mario Party title.

After that, the duo take a break to discuss a little bit of trivia, in this case Wikipedia's List of video games notable for negative reception article.

Following the mid-point trivia discussion, PixlTalk wraps up discussion with a brief talk about Groundhog's Day (or lack thereof) in video games and close mentioning an upcoming preview from Nate about Radiant Historia.

For now, the plan is to record PixlTalk on Thursdays and bring it to you on Fridays. As we mention both Stanton Daries and and Andrew Clark are interested in joining the PixlTalk crew, but both were unavailable this past week.

I don't love to correct! It's just my patriotic doodie. The -of didn't belong in the byline.

Nate is a great addition to the podcast.

We discussed it. We liked the "of!"

And yes, he is.

Aww, shucks, thanks guys. I'm excited to see where the 'cast goes. Go a lot of fun ideas we can try down the road.

And I stand by my 'of'. It is a valid use of the word. ;-)

Actually, Zap is right, 'of' was not validly used there. It said "a sign of it's coming," which reads "a sign of it is coming." It should be "a sign of its coming" or "a sign it's coming." I removed the apostrophe, so it reads like the former.

Anyhow, thanks for taking charge on this guys and bringing it back. I look forward to listening at work on Monday.

Oh, crap, the boss is gonna listen?! ;-)

Looks like Bonk might still be coming, as it's still listed on the Hudson website. It's also listed on the Japanese Hudson site, so who knows.

WiiWare version appears to be cancelled though.

Well, the Virtual Console in North America just got Faxanadu and that was Hudson so their stuff is still being released in some form uninterrupted. Though it could have already been cleared before Hudson's changeover.

Posted on February 22, 2011 3:36 PM

I was playing Faxanadu all day yesterday.

The title Nate was thinking of was Space Quest, not Galaxy Quest.

Also, did this episode get cut short, or is that just me?

Posted on February 23, 2011 7:41 PM

I was willing to keep going but Jason cut us off. I don't recall why.

Posted on February 23, 2011 7:54 PM

Well not cut off in that sense, like it stops during someone saying something, as if something were wrong with the recording.

Posted on February 23, 2011 8:48 PM

Oh no! Something seems like it went wrong with the upload.

Sorry about the technical error, folks. I hunt down the file and re-upload it tonight, which should fix part of the issue, if not all of it. Weird that it didn't transfer the last minute or two of the recording.

Update: I think a re-upload of the podcast fixed the issue with the clipped ending, there's about six more minutes or so that were missing. That said, I can't get the embedded player to work. I'm pretty sure I got the player to work when I first posted the story, but I could be thinking of PB & Jason. Any ideas about the player, Nick?

Posted on February 23, 2011 10:11 PM

What? Noo! You were talking about Majora's Mask and then the podcast went all Dawn of the Third Day. Boom, silence.

It's the perfect ending.

Posted on February 24, 2011 2:16 AM

Maybe we should leave it cut off cliffhanger style and play the rest next week.

Posted on February 24, 2011 2:23 AM

It's too late. Those six minutes of us pretty much saying goodbye, along with the rest of the podcast, were already reuploaded.

Is it me or is the episodes 21 and 20 Pixltalk episodes whoever was in it sound like chipmunks?

Posted on March 1, 2011 5:07 AM

Nick updated the system a bit. I haven't checked since then, but beforehand, things were working fine. Beyond that, I need to say it's my fault Episode 22 of PixlTalk isn't up yet. We had some drops in the conversation, and I've nearly pieced it all together. Hopefully it'll be up tonight. If you hear chipmunk voices in that one, absolutely speak up and we'll look into it.

Sure I'll let you know. On another note I think this is like the only podcast I have been able to listen to on my Wii. So thanks for having that type of option. I can't really listen to any of the casts on NWR at all.

Posted on March 1, 2011 5:33 AM

It was completely unintentional, but thanks for mentioning it. That's useful to know.

Fans of PixlTalk, Jason's show, PB & Jason, now has its own feed. I know they all used to be listed in the PixlTalk feed, but we shifted it over and you can now subscribe to that with the following URL:

Enjoy!
