This morning Nintendo of America announced that American players will have a special way to celebrate 25 years of the famous Italian mascot. On December 12, Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition will be released in America for a limited time only.
The package will include the same four titles originally released on Super Mario All-Stars on the Super Nintendo: Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels (a.k.a. Super Mario Bros. 2 in Japan), Super Mario Bros. 2 (USA), and Super Mario Bros. 3. The titles all feature enhanced graphics and sound, and can be played using the Wii Remote, Classic Controller/Pro, or the GameCube controller.
In addition to these games, players will receive a soundtrack CD and an illustrated commemorative booklet. The soundtrack features classic theme songs, sound effects, and other music from the series, stretching as far back as the original Super Mario Bros. to the recently released Super Mario Galaxy 2. The booklet is a 32-page behind-the-scenes look at Super Mario History complete with interviews, special details, and rare concept art.
Players can grab the title on December 12 for a suggested retail price of $29.99.
Argh, I already own the SNES version of this game, but knowing it's going to be a limited run, I need to buy it.
I've been spoiled. 4-player Co-op, please.
To add to the pressure to buy. Nintendo of America just tweeted that it will be available "while supplies last". Agh!
