2009 was a solid year across all consoles. I was surprised how many niche titles made a big impact on me, while a number of high profile titles simply underwhelmed me.

As a whole, the most impressive games of 2009 were exclusives from both Nintendo and Sony. Even though many companies were hit hard due to the economy, a number of high quality titles were still released even from smaller companies.
