So in my absence, my wife has progressed past the Battlelord and has made it to the Duke Dome.
I think my turning down the sensitivity of the joy sticks made it easier to shoot, I found I was flailing around wildly when I was playing before. She also went back and got all the Ego Boosts, which I am sure also helped out a lot.
She is having great fun with the game.
But man was it painful watching her trying to figure out pipe bombs and trip wire bombs. She thought the Pipe Bombs blew up right when you threw them., but as soon as I told her you can place them one at a time and then blow them all up at the same time, her eyes lit up. Like a demented child on Christmas.
That last paragraph is one of the best kind of things about gaming. Oh, the possibilities.
Indeed, Like mulitplayer on Duke 3D, just lacing the battlefield with pipe bombs and nuking every one on screen with a push of a button.

Clearly you did! It was amusing to me how offended and angry most reviewers seemed to get with this game. Yeah, it's juvenile, and yeah, it's not in good taste most of the time. But a lot of the reviews I read sounded like they were coming from 60 year old grandmothers instead of 20-something games writers.
The way to a woman's heart is always through explosions! Just remember, cool people don't look back at things blowing up,they just walk away!
