ICO and Shadow of the Colossus are two games that I totally missed out on for some reason during their launch. Luckily I've had the HD remakes together on one disc sitting on my shelve wrapped in celophane for a year, maybe less than a year, but I decided to pop it in my PS3 and give it a whirl, and all I can say is WOW!
Total gems packed together in PS3 redistrubuted goodness. I would liken it to having two excellent films on dvd for the price of one or a double feature film, you get my drift.
On another note, I recently transferred all of my content from Wii to WiiU and packed away my Wii. Problem occured when I found some old games from gamecube and I felt like playing them, but guess what, I just put away the console that can run them, and I don't know what happened to my Gamecube? I sure hope Nintendo will relaunch more titles in HD. I've seen what PS3 can do, not sure XBOX has done this, but sure hope Nintendo does this.
The games I was wanting to play through again were none other than the excellent P.N.03 and Killer 7. That's right, I said "excellent" games. I'm in the camp that can accept a game despite flaws, and I'm not saying these games were up to standards, game play wise, I've seen run throughs of P.N.03 where players just run through hallways without fighting anything, major flaw actually, but it had potentional dammit.
These games I mentioned were also experimental and weird. Something that doesn't happen in games anymore. Alas.

On a different note, I never played P.N.03. It always looked interesting, but was something people didn't seem to receive well. Watching that video, it looks like it's up my alley. I'm gonna have to start looking for a used copy soon.
you unlock different suits throughout the game with different abilities. It was a weird anime-robot-techno-music-dancing game thing, what ever.

I always wanted to play those, and I thought P.N.03 looked awesome, but stayed away cause of bad reviews. I may just have to let Amazon change that for me if I find a good price.
Sadly, I was never interested in ICO, and Shadow of Colossus came out around the time my older brother moved out with the PS2.
The games look very nice in HD. There are many games that have emulated their game play. They are very, umm, I hate to use the word, but "artistic". I can't think of another word. Atmospheric? Emotional? They're good.
Lets do em all. I want Einhander HD!

I guess the ¥return on HD remakes and ports isn't high enough (especially for the obscure stuff I'd like), but I wish they'd do them more often.
Also, they shoud be "good" HD remakes. Silent Hill HD is not so good. Worse than the original..

I still have yet to play the ICO games. I've heard so many great things about them that I hope to get that collection. I agree with remaking everything in HD. I'd like to see some NES and SNES games remade lol.

Good read! I think they redid Ratchet & Clank already, plus your Wind Waker suggestion is coming true later this year. My top choice is definitely the Castlevanias.
I meant to mention Soul Reaver and Metroid series, but I was focusing on Gamecube HD and Metroid Prime looks good on gamecube already, as do Resident Evil Remake and RE Zero. Good list by the way. I prefer my castlevania in pure pixel goodness though.
My choices from last gen would be the Fatal Frame, Maximo and Xenosaga games.
I would like Fatal Frame on WiiU so I can use the gamepad as a camera.
Agreed, more HD remakes please. Square Enix should get on this instead of porting everything to iPhone.

I just realized something-- P.N.03 is the original Bayonetta. LOL.
PN03 deserves a sequel. I don't think there's a market for it, Anime-Robot-Shooter? I would still like to see it.
