I am having a not very fun time trying to beat Brynhildr in FFXIII. Some of the bosses have been really tough in this game, but this one, man, this mofo is FAST. It's making my head spin. Three times I tried, different tactics, none worked, so I consulted a guide. It seems I need to immediately cast buffs and de-buffs. I hadn't tried that, the only thing I do is switch between Paradigms from the get-go.
But that's also one of the things about RPG battle systems - sometimes you don't fully understand it all until well into the game. Which is cool in a way, since with subsequent playthroughs you can kind of enjoy it more, knowing what you're doing.
But anyway, I'm loving this game. I'll love it even more when I kick Brynhildr's ass XD
Yeah, the Eidolon battles are some of the toughest around. They are also really tricky the first time around.

The boss fight encounters were much harder than regular enemy battles in the game. It's like the game didn't prepare you for the boss fights at all. Buffs and Debuffs are essential to boss battles in the game. Haste is my best friend.
They get worse.
Yeah, much harder. I tried again to beat Brynhildr last night and failed again. So I restarted at the last save and spent an hour grinding to level up my Crystarium stats. I'm gonna beat that bastard sooner or later. Thanks for the haste tip!
