So I just received access to the Beta of Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn for the PS3. I applied for this months ago on their website so it’s a nice Friday surprise. My hopes aren’t too high as I’ve only heard negative things about the initial release for PC but I’m interested in checking it out. I’ll put a few hours into it tonight and over the weekend and decide if it’s worth the investment at release. I’ve never actually played a MMO so I’m sure I’ll be lost at the start but I’ll sure as hell give it a good attempt.
Anyone play this originally or playing the beta now?
yeah I got this too. downloading now. I played the original which was okay.
Good to hear. Hopefully there's some imporovement than. I'm expecting nothing so hopefully it can beat that
it was a bitch getting the account set up but it's downloading now. I'm sure it will be better than the original. I'm looking forward to it.
Hey what server did you pick? It would be neat if we could get a group going
i haven't picked mine yet. what's yours?
I'll pick one when I get on later tonight if no one has joined one by then. Everyones too polite to choose
i started playing on "Marlboro" under the NA/Europe ones.
Great. I'll hop on that when I log in.........eventually
Didn't realise it had the additional download following registration and linking of accounts on the PS3. Lame. Guess it'll be tomorrow evening now before I get on
yeah it's a freaking nightmare.
Nice. I wish I could get invited to the beta. =(
Check their website if you're interested. I'm not sure if there's a limit
Got in to beta too. Will play over weekend.
Awesome! Hopefully it doesn't suck.....
What server is everyone on? I won't login until tomorrow.
Actually good question. It'd be great to be on the same. I'm downloading tonight so if someone doesn't pick by then I'll let you know
Hoping it turns out for the better!
Indeed!
Hmmm. Maybe I will see if I can get in the beta. I played FFXI for a long time and really liked it. FFXIV as it was released was a terd.
That's what I hear. They've taken enough time so hopefully it's much improved
I applied. If I get in, I will choose the same server as you guys.
I got a beta key too, and I was surprised when I saw the email. I had completely forgotten that I signed up.
Tell me what server everyones on and I'll join that one.
Ok we just need to pick one... I had totally forgotten too. I applied back in January without putting too much thought into it. Glad I did now
I'm going to join "Marlboro" under the NA/Europe ones like Matt
Darn, I wanted to join Chocobo, but oh well, I guess it doesn't really make that much of a difference.
I joined Marlboro Server. So that's where I'll be.
I joined last night. Seems ok to start but it froze on me after some serious grinding before I could save. I haven't the heart to check when it last saved
There's no way this laptop is handling an MMO, but look forward to your thoughts on it.
I'm playing on the PS3. It's a pretty rough install and set up but graphically I think it looks great
I wanted to give this a go, but given how my HDD is full of PS Home stuff, and my other gaming exploits, I doubt I'd have the space to hold the beta. Looks like I might need to upgrade my PS3 HDD one last time...
