Rough work day, one iPod is saved & the other dies, I know I played something....

I've been home for about 3 hours and I feel like I'm still licking wounds from a punishing work day. It didn't start out that way. There was plenty to do and it went from manageable and risk-free and then halfway my boss shows up to assist in stripping wax off of a hallway for 7th graders and it turned nasty. I'll accept the blame that not all of the procedures of cleaning the doorways (when we stripped the classroom floors weeks ago) were followed, which complicated and prolonged the hallway stripping. My boss was just laying into me and a co-worker, all while we're feverishly trying to finish the hallway. While he was right, I just wish he'd fucking stopped earlier than he did. One of those days...

My replacement iPod batteries came in the mail yesterday and it felt like I spent all night replacing the batteries. My first iPod classic (a 5th gen video 30 GB) was easy to open and fix and it works just fine now. My 6th gen 80 GB classic was the model that I stupidly left in the sun and was a bitch to open. I dented the shit out of the metal casing and thought I completed the process. Soon the iPod turned off and wouldn't hold a charge. I opened it up again and double-checked that I followed the steps and noticed that a section of the motherboard looked damaged.

Initially I felt bad but at least I have a spare battery for the other one. Now it's just a question of whether or not I'll go to the trouble of getting another iPod. I have about 11 GB left on the 30 GB; I put what I considered the essentials. Now I have to figure out what else I should add to it.

The only thing I played was more Treasures of Montezuma Blitz on the Vita. Again. Till I fell asleep. Yay.

Sorry about the death of your 80 GB iPod. The money I was saving to buy an MP3 player  went to buy an air conditioner so the pets and I don't get heat stroke. And so I can play my 360 without it frying.

You made the right choice.

Bad work day for me too. I feel like moving to New England with no money and surviving alone in the forests of the White Mountains.

Sorry you had a bad work day. I forget where I put my iPod, I don't use it too often.

Thanks. We all have them every now and then. The last 2 days were better and now I have the weekend.
