                             Swag09-20

This ends my Gamestop hopping for retro collections because I've found the final missing link between the very old and new in Atari Classics Evolved [editor's note: Not!]. There's some miscellaneous downloadables I have to go pick up soon and there's a few original Xbox games that I'll have to hit my local retro store for, but I'm pretty much finished for a while, at least at Gamestop, which is a relief because I'm so tired of being asked for preorders and insurance for my games.

This Gamestop I went to, kinda far afield of my normal stomping ground, had some seriously cool PSP games. Growlancer: Wayfarer of Time and Person 2: Innocent Sin in the box complete! I was so tempted, but budget constraints forbade it. I couldn't pass up Patapon 3 though.

Atari Classics Evolved: There are 11 Atari arcade games presented in perfect emulation or in enhanced versions. Then, by playing these, you can unlock the Atari 2600 games, all 50 of them. Don't look for Activision titles, like I keep doing for Stampede, 'cause you have to get those on Activision Hits Remixed for PSP (dammit! another one I need!). If you want a breakdown of what games are here, see the Giant Bomb review here: http://www.giantbomb.com/atari-classics-evolved/3030-22414/

Patapon 3: I was just going for the Atari game, but when I saw this in the box all neat and tidy, I just couldn't resist. Patapon is my favorite series on the PSP, and I just had to have it. I now have all three in the box! The new addition to Patapon 3 is the Superhero Patapon which replaces the God that beat the drum. Now it's your own Avatar doing the drumming. Cool! There's more multiplayer content in 3, but unless I find someone to play with (doubtful) I might not get to try it out.

Extra Bonus Blog: That's Nintendo Voice Chat podcast there on my iPod Touch. They were gushing about Rayman Legends and it got me so pumped to play it that I moved it up in my list to a Must Play. I was also listening to the Big Red Barrel UK podcast and they mentioned Microsoft has just cut the number of Indie games down to 125 on Xbox Live! Are XBLA games to go next? Ah!]

Yes! Rayman Legends totally should be on your must-buy list. Seriously, it's sitting pretty as my personal GOTY right now. If you've got a Wii U and a friend/family member to play it with, you're in for one of the best co-op experiences ever. Gushing review, if you're interested Smile.

I'm tentatively planing to pick up a Wii-U around Christmas with Wind Waker and Pikmin 3, but I might have to add Rayman Legends to that. I'd like to have a Very Rayman Christmas.

Yea, I'm on a tare. Luckily all this stuff has been very cheap, but I'll probably reign it in after tomorrow when I have to pick up two more PSP titles I just found out about and that cost a grand total of $4. I love doing the daily blog about my pickups though.

I bought the Patapon games last year.  I still hadn't played them.  My son loves them.

I've played the first one, but haven't gotten around to the others. I know I'll love them after the first one though. Got to find time for it.

The Actvision collection is fantastic.  One of the best game collections of all time.

Another PSP game you should get is Loco Roco and its sequel.

Here's my review of Rayman Legends:

Good to hear about the Activision collection because I go get it tomorrow for $3.

I tried Loco Roco once and it made me nauseous. I was laughing as it was happening because I couldn't believe it. I never get sea sick. I actually fell asleep on a violently rocking boat when I was a kid. But it must've been all the shifting of horizontal lines as I moved my character around on them.

I've always wanted to try the Patapon games.

You command an army of Patapons in a 2D environment with drum rhythms. The sounds the Patapons make is so cute and the graphics are so attractive. I think I fell in love with the game after only a couple of minutes with it.

I'm not done giving my psp love either. I still want to pick up Star ocean 2,MGS peace-walker, and Valkyria chronicles 2!

I love the boxes the UMD discs come in. I don't know why. I guess they fit in the hand nicely and present the cover art of the game in a vertical, rectangular frame that emphasizes its composition more dramatically than the almost square box for console games.
