Here's the main battle theme from the indie game I scored, Pirate Code. Give it a listen, mates!

Damn this is badass. What program are you using?

Thanks, man! It's just GarageBand, actually, though I do have a couple Jam Packs. Hoping to get some nicer software next year.

My advice? FL Studios is pretty freaking awesome. There are a tonne of free plugins and instruments for it, and though it can take a bit to learn, it can sound damn amazing.

I've looked into some different programs and unless I'm mistaken, FL is just for Windows...and I have a Mac. I've been thinking about Reason, though it's a lot of money. Haven't decided on anything yet.

There's a Beta out, and it's coming to Mac very soon. Seems weird, since a lot of the functionality seems designed for a mac already.

I'll look into that, thanks for the heads up. Macs tend to be the platform of choice for a lot of professional musicians, so it would be strange for a program as well known as FL Studio not to try to get a version out for it.

This is really good. Perfect dramatic score for a ship battle! Seems like you put a lot into this,Daft!

I did! This was probably the most nerve-racking song to work on because I knew the player would be hearing it more than any other. Glad you liked it!

That was...  AWESOME!!!

At 1:40 I immediately thought of the music in WarCraft II. Maybe this:

I keep remembering sending ships out on patrol while I built my town to this music.

Cool music. Reminds that I have yet to play WarCraft II lol. Some day! I liked the first song especially. Very dark.

You have to run DOSBox to play it I'm told.

If I ever get the will, I'm sure I'll find a way lol

I need to check this tune out soon. I'm so behind on all the music themed blogs on here. I'm just not in the right situation to listen to these right now (reading all of this at work right now and not allowed to play music during my lunch break, espeically after the one Metal Monday blog I happen to listen to during that time...)

Well I have certainly added to that queue! Which reminds me...I forgot to do an OCR blog today. Drat. You're off the hook this week but make sure to listen to this one Smile

finally was able to get it to work! I had to disable some proxy programs (damned NSA).

It's good and fits the theme and genre well. A battle theme that works very well for it. Wish I could try out the game's demo.

Thanks! I hope you can try out the game eventually.
