I think when I first saw Legend of Zelda, I thought Link was Zelda too. I mean it's called Legend of Zelda so shouldn't the character you play be Zelda? It's really the Legend of Link. 

Totally. I see where it can be confusing if you are exposed to the series for the first time. I know the first time I went into Link's awakening it confused me. The Zelda cartoon sort of helped clear up more things despite Link being kind of an ass in that show. lol. 

Korra is the main character in Legend of Korra. If it was a game you would HAVE to play as Korra. In The Legend of Grimrock you are trapped inside Mt. Grimrock. In The Legend of Mick Dodge the story is about Mick Dodge. If that was a game you would play as Mick Dodge (which would be an awesome wilderness survival game. Get on it devs!). In The Legend of the Seeker, The Seeker, Richard Cypher, is the main character and it would be absurd to not play him in a game of that show. And that's just the first page of a Google search for "Legend Of". If you were to tell a story about the Zelda games, you would talk about Link for 99% of the time. I think it's a mistake to call it Legend of Zelda. It's Link's story not Zelda's.

Yeah, I would have named it "The amazing journeys of Link" but that's just me. lol. However Zelda still plays a rather big role. She sort of embodies the world Link is trying to save. That and she was pretty damned clever in the way she hid all the Triforce fragments from Ganon.

In the back of my mind, I'm thinking that maybe I just don't know the Zelda story well enough. Got to play more Zelda games.
