Played a bunch of Borderlands 2. Collected a bunch of achievements and then restarted the game on Vault Hunter difficulty. Gaining levels a lot faster, enemies a lot tougher, the battles a lot more enjoyable and hectic. I am still dying alot being an Assassin. It's hard to keep these bull rushing enemy off you long enough to site them with your sniper rifle. Bacially I feel like a very weak player in this game.

Xbox Live's Ultimate Sale this week, still going on through Tuesday, got me to pick up a bunch of games alltogether totalling $20. I got Bastion, Dust: An Elysian Tale, Toy Soldiers: Cold War, Batman Arkham City and Red Dead Redemption.

Played some Magic Sword, the medieval fantasy side scrolling 2D brawler, on the PSP collection Capcom Classics Collection Remixed. It's pretty good only I really want to be able to save half way through. I'll have to figure that out or try and beat it in one sitting.

This blog is short because I played Boarderlands 2 all day long. The game is much better on the Vault Hunter higher difficulty. It's actually a challenge and you level up quicker.

It's also short because now I'm heading off to go see The Wind Rises at the theater. Miyasaki's (spelling?) animated film about WWII Japanese airplane design and I'm sure a bunch of humanistic stuff like a love affair and comentary on life in general. It's gonna be great!

Dammit, I wish I were still in Dallas near the limited release theaters.

I thought it was out this weekend but it's actually next. I went all the way to the theater before I realized it. It was listed on Fandango with a release date of the 21st, but I didn't look closely when I looked up movie times, which all gave dates for next weekend. I was disappointed but at least it will be out alongside the new Professor Layton game that Friday.

I can't find a theater near me that's playing it right now, and I live just north of Dallas.

I was afraid it would only release to art house theaters in my area, but it will be out in the big theaters here next week. Phew!

Cary: it opens at the Angelika this Friday.

Interesting I haven't played that much on the Vault Hunter difficulty. I like the sound of it. More challenging. Interesting....

I was so getting bored on normal difficulty. Maybe it was that my co-op buddy was a few levels above me and just mowing down everything in site with impunity, but I did begin to think I was in an adventure game and not a shooter. Vault Hunter difficulty however, is total mayhem and makes you sit up and pay attention. It was much more engaging and made me think about how to mix and match all these weapons and items to get the best result against certain foes. Plus item drops were better and leveling was faster.

I am definitely going have to revisit it and play it on the Vault Hunter Difficulty. I am kind excited. More Loot and better drops.

Love Bastion and i've liked a lot what i'd played of Dust. Enjoy them!

I can't wait to get to both of them. The demos were great.

I want to see that movie, but it's not playing at a theater near me.

Posted on February 24, 2014 5:57 PM

I've begun noticing some of the better movies only get circulation in certain theaters. I really, really hate that.

Oh XBox sale, you took more of my money. I would have jumped on Batman if I already didn't own it on PS3. I might jump on Saints Row IV and Puzzle Quest 2. Looks like you also found a bunch of good stuff, especially for $20

Posted on February 24, 2014 6:00 PM

Oh man! Is Saint's Row IV on sale today! In a few hours I go to my friend Mark's place and boot up my 360. I'm all over that one. I already have Puzzle Quest 2. I got stuck in that game. It was a bit of a disappointment after the great first one. Galactrix was good though.

Yup, I bought a point card for SRIV, Puzzle Quest, and one of the DLC packs for SRIV.

Are there still points cards? I was wondering how to gift a friend some DLC and thought that cards were done. I'll have to look for them.

Yeah but they went with dollar amounts amounts in $15, $25, and $50. I think GameStop also sells codes in any amount.

That's cool. Now I can get my friend some DLC when we need it.

Is it just me or is the sales on XBLA/PSN lackluster as of late?

Posted on April 18, 2014 7:09 PM

They are. Hardly anything changes on there anymore, and every time I look, there's nothing of interest to me.
