Couldn't help it, had to play a bit of Tales of Symphonia

My 100 GB monthly DL cap rolled over yesterday and I made it with .95 of a GB to spare.  Go me go!

Anyway I celebrated by downloading 5 GB worth of Tales of Symphonia. I still have LA Noir to download and it is 12 GB.

As it turns out I couldn't just download Symphonia and leave it alone. I wound up playing through the first temple. It was a warm and comfy feeling and it took me back to the first time I played it on the Gamecube. It also showed me how far the games have come technically since Symphonia was originally released.

If you've played Tales of Graces F and/or Tales of Xillia, Symphonia will detect your save files on the PS3. If it does you will get Costume sets from Tales of Graces, Xillia, Vesperia and Xillia 2. I thought that was kind of cool but I don't know what they look like yet because I do not know how to change costumes yet.

That's it from me. Until we talk again.

I haven't figured out how to chnge costumes yet, myself. Maybe we should ask Andrew.

Check your characters' titles. The title that changes to a "classic" costume is at the bottom of the list. I own both Xillia and Graces f in addition to Symphonia, but apparently you only have to have save files from one game or the other on your HDD registered to the same PSN ID to unlock all of the costumes. They'll also be unlocked in New Game + if you don't own either Graces or Xillia.

Lloyd: Guy from Tales of the Abyss

Colette: Rita from Tales of Vesperia (title "Researcher")

Genis: Luke from Tales of the Abyss

Raine: Pascal from Tales of Graces

Kratos: Ludger from Tales of Xillia 2

Sheena: Judith from Tales of Vesperia

Zelos: Alvin from Tales of Xillia

Presea: Elize from Tales of Xillia

Regal: Malik from Tales of Graces

Thanks Andrew. :)

Oops, replied to Tami by mistake. More coffee!

Yes, but I was the one who suggested we ask Andrew. You're welcome.

LOL. Alright then, thanks Tami and Andrew. There, all better now. :)

Yaaay, Tami! Good call! :)

Seriously, I like to think of myself as the Gray Hair of Tales games. :)

I think I need another ten years before I play this again.

But I have been playing FFXHD

I really want to play that again too. I was hoping they'd separate the games so I could buy FF X for $19.99.

The extra costumes were a nice surprise.  Too bad no love for Legendia, though.

I started Graces f a couple days ago.  I hadn't played it much yet.  I plan to put in a lot of time this weekend.

I've had a great time playing it. I just need to get through the last dungeon now.

That's pretty cool, didn't know the game had little additions like that.

I'm bad about starting Tales games and not finishing them. Going all the way back to Tales of Destiny for PS1,lol. I still have a Gamecube copy of Symphonia but I'm seriously considering the Symphonia antholoy they just released.

I sold my GC version a while back so when I saw that the HD version of was available for $19.99 digitally (2nd game is sold separately) I jumped at the chance because I don't finish Tales games either.

I have the 2nd game on Wii so I have no need to duplicate. Plus the fact that I wasn't really thrilled with that one anyway.

I remember Symphonia 2 getting mixed reveiws, thats why I was gonna wait and see if it drops in price $10 in the next month or so. Still looking at getting Dishonored GOTY which might trump Symphonia for the meantime. Its only $29.Money Mouth

I really need to try out the Tales series. I've always seen Lunar as my JRPG love but given that I've yet to see another Lunar game I might as well move on to fresher pastures. Plus my try out with the Legend of Heroes series didn't quite pan out well.
