Games I Beat:
Scribblenauts Unlimited (3DS)
I say I beat this game, but I only got the stars I needed to save the girl. I probably will never get to solving those other puzzles.
Games I'm Playing:
Shadow Blade (Ouya)
Along with the many emulators I'm tinkering around with, I happened upon this game. It's pretty good. It's one of those Android games ported to the Ouya. It's not as good as Mark of the Ninja (360), but that is slightly a different game.
Mass Effect 3 (360)
Still playing. This game is longer than the other two. The action is at a faster pace, but there is more dialog.
Tales of Graces f (PS3)
I hadn't touched this in a couple days. I'm going to dedicate more time to it after Mass Effect 3 is done. I should be on it by Sunday.
New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Wii)
I'm not a big fan of the 3D Mario games, but I love the 2D ones.
Games I Bought:
Code Princess (3DS)
I've been putting this game off for a long time. I saw it for a nice price and had to get it.
Games I'm Getting:
South Park: The Stick of Truth (360)
I plan to get this soon. I played it at a friend's house and I really enjoyed it. Hopefully I can get it within the month.
Lego Marvel Super Heroes (360)
I should of got this game a long time ago. I hope to get in within the next month.
The Witch and the Hundred Knight (PS3)
I have this game preordered, but I think I'll cancel it. I've seen a few reviews and it's not looking great. I'll hold out on getting it and put that money toward getting one of the games I mentioned above.
Comics I'm Reading:
I've been reading a lot of comics lately. I figure I'd share a few.
The Witcher #1
I walk into the comic store and found this on the newly release shelf. I read it last night and it's pretty damn good. There are 4 more issues to go.
Serenity: Leaves on the Wind
The story takes place about 9 months after the movie and Mal & crew are in hiding. I read the first 2 issues and the 3rd comes out next week. Good stuff so far.
The Terminator: Enemy of My Enemy
The year is 1985. A Terminator is shows up and is trying to kill a scientist. A bounty hunter, who is after the same woman and ordered to bring her in alive, gets caught up with battling the Terminator. I only read the first 2 issues. It's looking good.
StarLight #1
This issue is a bit sad. An old man just lost wife and his sons are too busy with their own lives to be with him. The old man in his younger years was a test pilot for the Air Force. There was some kind of accident and he was transported to an alien world. When he returned back to Earth, no one believed him. A year after his wife's death, he is all alone and his past comes back to visit him.
I read a few other books, but I think that's enough for now.
What are you guys playing, or reading?
I'm playing Tales of Symphonia, but you knew that, lol. Jason and I have been reading the Leaves On the Wind comics, too, and he'll probably buy the new one on Tuesday.
I had totally forgot about Leaves on the Wind. I was leaving the comic store when I just happen to look at the release list for next week. I saw issue #3 on it and started to look for the issues I missed. There was a single copy is each issue left. They were ment for me.
I haven't played the witcher series so I may start soon.
I'm going to buy The Crow soon, i've read it but never owned it maybe next month.
I've been replaying Street Fighter alpha 3 the past fe weeks, love that game. too bad I suck at it
. I'm borrowing Max Payne 3 soon, I know it just about abandons the feel of the 2 and first game but from what I've seen it's a good game regardless.
I hadn't played SFA3 in years. I suck at that game. I was the man on SFA2 (SAT).
I'll probably get Max Payne 3 this year. I see it pretty often at a low price.
Play The Witcher when you can. I played The Witcher 2 (360) and it's good. I also have The Witcher (PC), but I hadn't played it yet.
Bouncing between Skyrim and Borderlands 2. Getting over a kidney stone so been playing Borderlands more, less thinking & more action which is good. Its too tough to play Skyrim on pain meds, lol. Tough much planning and stuff.
Last good comic read for me was Wolverine: Old Man Logan. Got the first few trades a fews years back. Then I found the whole book on Amazon. A super dark and gritty revenge story with some serious WTF moments.
Kidney stones scare me. I knew a couple people last year that had one.
I read Wolverine: Old Man Logan last year. It's pretty good. There is a new Wolverine Origin chapter that released a couple months ago. It's now on issue #3. It's pretty good too.
They truly suck. I had one before about 6 years ago. This one is much worse. But I'll survive.
I should read something at some point, but being in school somehow makes that less attractive.
That ninja game looks cool, though, and I might see about setting aside my anti-JRPG bias and playing Stick of Truth at some point, especially cause I love what I've seen and it seems like the combat system is like Paper Mario, which is a JRPG I actually enjoyed to some degree.
Now that I'm not getting The Witch and the Hundred Knight, I can get South Park sooner than later.
I saw the Witcher comic this week. Didn't bite. I had too much on my plate already.
I've been buying too many comics lately. If only I hadn't saw it. I'm glad I picked it up though. It's only 5 issues long, so it's not like it will be a long commitment.
I've been playing a lot of Yoshi's New Island lately, and reviewing a bunch of other stuff, as you know. The Witch and the Hundred Knight is one of the things on my list to review, so later on you can catch that and see if the game is any good.
Cool. I'd like to know what you think of The Witch and the Hundred Knight.
that Millar comic looks good!
Starlight is the first comic I read by him.
he's the guy who made Colonel Fury look like Samuel L Jackson in the comics before the movies.
He does the ultimate series. I can't make myself read those. I like the way the characters were. Keep the movie characters in the movies.
yeah I mostly agree. I think the Ultimates was ok though. Ultimate Xmen and stuff was just trashy.
I still think New Super Mario Bros Wii has the best ending Bowser sequence. Very epic.
I got the first Firefly comic for Christmas but haven't gotten around to reading it yet. Need to do that...
Which Serenity comic did you get? There are more than a few of them. I think they are all mini series comics and probably all converted into graphic novel form. Leaves on the Wind started in January. I would like to get the other Serenity comics. There's a mini series on Shepherd Book I would love to get.
It's subtitled "Those Left Behind" and the spine says it's #1. It looks like a graphic novel rather than a single issue comic but it's still very thin.
I have been meaning to pick up the trades of the Serenity comic books that came out years ago. Not sure why I haven't. I do have a Dr. Horrible trade that I have yet to read somewhere.
I don't know anything about Dr. Horrible. I'll have to look into it.
Not my favorite 2D Mario, but New Super Mario Bros. Wii is still a very fine and fun game, specially in multiplayer where it's great to be a dick to your parterns
As for comics, I recently bought the first issue of Fables, aka the original source of The Wolf Among Us. Looks great.
I'm still pretty much in the dark about The Wolf Among Us. One of these days I'll change that.
I just like the 2D Mario games more. I find them to be less irritating than the 3D games. The only 3D Mario game I cound ever play for any length of time was Super Mario 64. The rest of them (even the Galaxy games) I can do without. I hadn't played the latest game, Super Mario 3D World, though. It does look like fun. I hope I can enjoy it more than the others.
To each of their own.
I find the 3D Mario games to be my favorites (ESPECIALY Galaxy).
WAIT there's a Firefly comic? Looks like I'm getting into comics. I hope these are available digitally so I can read them on my tablet.
I need to get back into the Mass Effect games, and hopefully there is another sale on the Lego Marvel game when you pick it up. I bought the 360 version a month ago maybe? when Toys R Us dropped the price to $20 for the weekend.
I don't know if you can buy them digitally, but you can get them digitally.
I am still kicking myself for missing that sale. I was going to get Lego Marvel then and just didn't.
I don't know what you mean
. I found out that there is a new local shop so I'll check them out and maybe throw some business their way.
Lego Marvel will drop to $20 soon, maybe when the Lego Hobbit game is released.
I really want SP: Stick of Truth. I've been watching a lot of Twitch videos on it and it looks great. As for Lego Marvel, that game is simply amazing. Its by far my favorite Lego game.
I hope to get South Park real soon. I wanted to pick it up yesterday, but some other stuff came up. I'll know I'll get Lego Marvel this year. I was getting a bit bored with the Lego games, but I had a lot of fun with that one.
I should read that serentiy comic. Been wondering what's happened to the crew after hearing "What was that?" at the end of the movie. =(
I still need to beat NSMBWii.
Serenity is pretty good. I still need to read the 3rd issue. Been holding on to it for a while now.
I hadn't touched NSMB (Wii) in a week or so. I should get back to it.
Wish Firefly would rise like a phoenix. Yeah, I realize the actors would be older but still.....let a geek dream!
As you probably saw, I'm trying to beat Dead Space 2 but I got to a save point where there's too little ammo and money wise I'm broke! DS 2 is a good game but the developers ramped it up a bit "too much" towards the end.
Serenity is on it's 5th issue now. I still hadn't read the 3rd. I have them all though. I plan to read them tomorrow at work.
