Guys, I've made it no secret that I adore remixes. I mean I do a few of them for fun, but I have nothing on the talent that some of these guys possess. I mean holy shit. Check these out!

Idle City Kids - Final Fantasy VI

Let's start with one of the most beautiful acoustic pieces I've ever heard. The original isn't really anything overly special. I mean, it's a decent track, but nothing compared to Tera's Theme or any of the countless amazing tracks FFVI has spawned. However, Pot Hocket has created something truly beautiful with this.

Her Smile in Every Summer - Zelda Windwaker

WARNING! THIS SONG WILL GET STUCK IN YOUR HEAD

Well. There is singing. And lyrics. And it's fucking badass, in tha sort of sickly sweet way. Seriously, this is an amazing track. If you don't dig it at least a little, you have no soul.

Shinra Shuffle - Final Fantasy VII

This is DJ Blake throwing some sweet, sweet jazz your way. This is a merging of the funky fresh vibes "Fight on" and "Fanfare." If this doesn't get your socks rockin' baby I don't know what will.

Passing The Blue Crown - Mega Man 3

This is the song that made me fall in love with remixes. Yeah, it's effing sweet. It's the first metal track I've listed, and it's badass!

Submerged in Ambiance - Donkey Kong Country

This is one of my favourite metal tracks on the site. It's drenched in reverb, it's atmospheric, but it's also metal as fuck. A seriously great track.

my personal favorite song in a video game would have to be Callista by Saki Caska....commonly known as the song you hear when entering Club Afterlife in Mass Effect 2.

Cool. That's actually what I'm working on remixing right now.

Awesome tracks. I love remixes too. I love the variety on this list, too.

Mega Man III's intro song is just amazing no matter who does it and I love the 2000s indie rock love song take on "Outset Island."

Never heard the Final Fantasy tracks, but both acoustic guitar and jazz are good for me.

Is the DKC  track from the water levels? I always thought those had atmospheric music on their own, but damn.

Yea, that's the underwater music from DKC. It's a favorite of mine.

Love that DKC ambient track.

I should also thank daftman for making some of us discover OC Remix in the first place.

As for the songs, they were awesome. My favorites were the Windwaker remix (reminded me of college Indie Rock like Vampire Weekend) and the two Metal tracks.

I love OCR (obviously, since I post one of their songs each week) but one of the great things about the site is just how huge it is. After that FFVI song (great pick!) I hadn't heard the other four. I was especially impressed with that Donkey Kong Country song. I never would have guessed the underwater music would work so well as metal but it totally does.
