Happy Friday good people of Pixlbit! My latest edition of Quick Hits is a little late because I had some things to do in the morning, watched Aztec Softball at lunch (they were playing that team in Ann Arbor at Arizona State), and since I have some time now, in the very warm SoCal…it’s 107 freakin’ degrees! 107! I thought about going thrift store hoppin’ but since it’s hot, I’m spending time with Mr. Air Conditioning. Ok so this week’s Quick Hits with Chris is a little bit of everything. Stuff from gaming to pickups to television. Sound like fun? Well good, let’s get this party started!
Instagram, Playboy, and SDSU
So this popped up on my Instagram feed on Thursday because Playboy announced their new Playmate of the Year

Two former Playmates…and two former SDSU Aztecs (I think SDSU has four Playmates). I joked with my friend that this should be on the brochures they send out to high school kids. I used to watch Summer Altice play volleyball while at SDSU.
Oh Walmart
While roaming around Walmart I saw this shirt, checked out it’s tag and then laughed

Don’t Be This Guy
While grabbing lunch, I spot this “genius”

Don’t be this jackass.
Marvel’s Agent Of Shield

I don’t know if you good folks have seen the season finale, so this next section is going to be full of spoilers but covered in black boxes. If you want to read my thoughts highlight the black boxes…cool? Cool!
So after a slow start to a show I called Warehouse 13 with Agent Coulson, the last handful of episodes made the show worth watching. I liked the concept of the show because it was supposed to be a group who investigated events that are parallel to the stories in the films. What made this show catch some momentum, is when the events of Captain America movie, effected this show.
I really enjoyed the crossover of having characters like Lady Sif, and Nick Fury have cameos within the television show, and I’m hoping that some members of Coulson’s team make an appearance in the next Avengers flick.
I can’t wait to see what happens next season, and I really wanted Skye to be the offspring of Howard Stark.
Book Update

I am currently on Chapter 19 in A Feast of Crows, or what I like to call Game Of Thrones Book 4. I seem to be going through this book at a much faster pace than the previous book, but the enjoyment level is still high. I’m thinking that I will probably finish this book before the end of the month, but I might take a break to catch up on my podcasts before tackling book 5.
Pickups
My first pickup that I’d like to mention is what my local grocery store is selling

Maple Bacon Donuts! Yeah my uber nutritious breakfast is now this, and a Mountain Dew.
Games
I took a trip to a couple of GameStop’s a couple of days ago.

I picked up Bionic Commando because it was a couple of bucks and I wanted to see what they did with this character since the NES. I asked if they had Borderlands 2 and the employee said the physical copy was going to be released at the end of the month, but if I bought the Vita, I could get the game now. That didn’t sound right, but I think he was new so I said no thanks and went on my way to the second store, which is on my way home. This is the store where I bought Virtua Tennis, and the employee there is a really cool guy. He made a comment about how he’s trying to figure out what game he can recommend to me because there isn’t a pattern in my game purchases, and Tennis just added to the craziness. I asked him if he is selling Borderlands 2 on the Vita and he went to the back checked out the package for a street date, and sold me a copy

I told him thank you for the game recommendation on B2, and he laughed. Since I didn’t play much of the game on the PS3/360, my character level is low, but it’s all-good.

There is a handful of things to download before even playing the game like the add-on’s, and the updates. This took maybe 10 minutes

Yay start screen!

For someone who isn’t experienced with this game, the game looks really good, the controls are fine…with the exception of me touching the back touchpad which makes my character swing, and at a couple of times I tossed a grenade which killed my character (I thought this was funny). So far in the game I am a Level 4 gamer. Yeah I guess you can say it’s getting serious

I saw this was the freebie on the 360. I already bought the physical copy for the 360, completed the game on PS3, and now it looks like I’m playing it again on the 360. Love this game, and this is the game that pushed me to buying the 4th installment.
Lego
The local Toys R Us got the Spider-Man Polybag and as a shock it was $5 like the Iron Man polybag. The vehicle I really don’t care for, I just wanted the new Spider-Man figure.

I also added a couple of figures to my Simpsons collection, and I now need five figures to complete the set

My current collection

I’ve been lucky in only having a couple of duplicates
Ok Pixlbit folks, it’s time for me to go back to spending time with the Vita and Lego (I have an idea I’m trying to work out). Have a good weekend!
That’s all for now, more later!
-Chris
Virtual Tennis. I have one of them for the PS3. Its an older one but an awesome game. I've been meaning to pick up the latest release of VT but havent found one local yet.
The VT franchise is such a good series. I got hooked on it on the Dreamcast and played a version of it ever since. If only I could find a Vita copy locally.
That paternless game purchasing will come in handy if the FBI ever tries to track you down. They'll be like "no way was all of this bought by the same person" and give up the chase.
Yup. Everything from The Bachelor on the DS to Borderlands 2 and Lego games, they'd probably assume it's a group of people buying on one account. I should buy random Wii games just further screw up their system.
Maple bacon donuts? Are they trying to kill everyone by giving them diabetes?
Only if folks try to eat a bunch of them. Its good but not sometime I'd eat everyday.
My pet peeve right now is bad parking habits. Some people just don't give a damn how they park. So selfish.
I'm going to download Saints Row The Third as soon as Wolfenstein comes out and I tuck my PS2 away and boot up the 360 again on Tuesday.
I hate when people do that.
I think I might start SRIII this weekend. Such a fun game!
aaaaaahhghhh donut. Cool pick ups as always. And WOW 107 holy cow its barely getting in the 70's here. Oh man I haven't played a VT game since the Dreamcast version.
The weather has been crazy here. I think it hit the mid 80s yesterday, and right now it's 72 at 830 am. LOVE the Dreamcast version. That was the game that sold me on the Dreamcast. Heck I should hook up the Dreamcast and play a bit.
Wow, you'll probably finish A Feast for Crows before I do, and I started a bunch of months ago. I need to manage my free time better.
I think I'm down to the final 8 chapters of the book. I would have probably finished it last weekend, if I didn't take a break and got caught up on my podcasts.
