Well. I'm sick as fuck. I have three assignments due in two weeks and I;m a bit stressed. So if you don't hear from me, I'm probably dead. Don't worry though. I give you permission to use my death as a meas of getting a day or two off work/school.
Now, on with the music!
Transistor
Yeah it's only new, but holy shit I am in love. This game has an absolutely gorgeous soundtrack that merges jazz and trip hop quite effectively. As shown above, the instrumentals are amazing, but when we get vocals... dear god it's a delight. He'rs another track.
This soundtrack is so good that it elevates the gameplay. It's what forced me to keep playing the game. It really is something.
FTL: Faster Than Light
I really dug the soundtrack to FTL. It made absolutely nailed the atmosphere. Simply breath taking.
Thomas Was Alone
This soundtrack can bring a grown man to tears. I know because it has.
The Cat Lady
Are you a fan of Nine Inch Nails? Well, by george you're going to love this soundtrack. It sounds a lot like early NIN. It's catchy, it's haunting, it's explosive. It's awesome.
Hope you enjoyed it. I'm going back to dying now. Bye!
man, I hope you don't die. I need my blunk drake!
Think of it this way: I'll be so drunk my brain will shutdown, I'll be paralytic and unconscious. Ultimate drinking binge!
Project Zomboid has surprisingly good music. Unlike 99% of modern games, I can remember the tunes days after I play the game.
Billion dollar game devs take note. Music adds so much to games.
All these are excellent!
Cool stuff! I thought Thomas Was Alone was going to be Super Hexagon at first because, well, somebody was playing Super Hexagon (which does have a cool soundtrack). I liked that Thomas Was Alone piece though.
Transistor looks so cool but I still need to play Bastion. And, like, Bastion, I'm hoping Transistor will come to the Humble Bundle at some point...
Why do you need to play Bastion? They aren't related in anyway apart from being from the same studio.
Well the main thing, I suppose, is that I already have Bastion. I hate to spend money on a great new game when I still have the studio's great old game to play.
I really want to play through Thomas was Alone again... and FTL... and Bastion... and then maybe start Transistor.
Awesome songs, all of them! Though I should say that the one of Transistor sounds more like Post-Rock with Trip-Hop.
As for other gaming soundtracks, I should also give a shout to Hotline Miami, Half-Life 2, Cave Story, Dear Esther and Super Meat Boy.
Listen to the whole album man. It's got a lot of stuff in there. And yes. All of those have excellent soundtracks. I have to save some for another blog haha :P
