Last Friday, one of the worst (yet most productive) summer work sessions concluded at my school district just in time for the next school year (which should start Aug. 18). Somehow against the odds - less help than previous summers, a shorter summer due to the snow days, and numerous construction jobs getting in our way - we finished all the floor work, carpet cleaning and detail work. I hope we're in better shape next year. I liked the day shift hours (not so much the extra money I had to shell out for breakfast or lunch; I only need two meals during the school year) although I rarely took advantage of it to go anywhere aside from gaming or watching movies.

Speaking of gaming, as my last post stated, I finally purchased a PS4. I didn't think I'd be able to commit to saving up the cash for it but I was convinced that I needed to have one before the fall season and definitely before 2015, when we'll be bombarded with current-gen experiences. And I could've chosen an Xbox One but I have been bitten by the Sony bug these past 2 years. Some Xbox exclusives (upcoming and next year) look appealing but the confusing and compromised design/intent of the system has turned me off into making it priority, not to mention the reported constant system updates. In another year or two, these kinks could be ironed out.

I gave Sony and the PS4 more time, which seemed more confident and aware of what it is and what it wants to do. More powerful, slicker design and the games (both AAA and indie) are plentiful. A majority of the friends I've made in the past 2-3 years have or will migrate over to it. I can't wait to get into Diablo 3 this coming week with friends and I believe Destiny will kick all kinds of ass. Then there's Far Cry 4 to look forward to. Next year for me may be all about Batman: Arkham Knight right now but of course there's more.

I like the Dualshock 4 and the user interface. Any PS+ games released for the system were redeemed by myself on the store's website so I had a bunch of games waiting in my download queue. So far it has been Resogun (great), Strider (fun, but I wouldn't call it "Strider"), Don't Starve (gonna starve pretty soon), Mercenary Kings (playing solo for right now, getting a feel for the game before I play online). I should start up some Twitch feeds and make an ass out of myself.

Last gen-wise, I've made a lot of progress through my second playthrough of Mass Effect 2. I still haven't played the campaign for ME3 and until I'm satsified with a playthrough of ME2, I won't continue that. I needed to purchase some DLC and replay the game, to do some extra missions and romance Tali (instead of Miranda on my previous playthrough). So far, I only need to recruit 2 more people (Kasumi and some one else). I just wrapped up the Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC and it was fantastic and a satisfying send-off for the relationship between my Shepherd and Liara T'Soni.

To prove that I'm still not done with older consoles, Gamefly finally sent me South Park: The Stick of Truth. It's a true blast so far. My previous rental was Ratchet & Clank: Into The Nexus, which was also enjoyable. 

On the Vita, I'm still making small, pick-up-and-play progress on Rogue Legacy, Rainbow Moon and Gravity Crush Ultra (looks and sounds amazing, by the way).
