What's up Pixlbit?
Life is starting to come back together. Just this past week I found two new jobs...one during daytime hours, the other during overnight hours...so I'll be able to finally start paying on some bills that've fallen a bit behind. The overnight job is stocking for Toys R Us, which I'm pretty excited about...the other job is washing dishes at a restaurant. I'm not so hot about that one...anyhow, they'll both do until I'm able to take my 40 hour HAZWOPERS Class and get out into the oilfields. Just this past two weeks I've completed my PASSPORT class as well as obtained my Confined Space Entry certification...the HAZWOPERS class is a shade over a 100 bucks, so I'll probably be taking it in November.
I've also seen what MIGHT be another mouse in my house...it was grey, and it was fast. I didn't get a good look at it. I saw it out of the corner of my eye and it creeped the fuck out of me.
So this weekend, armed with some JT Eaton-brand traps and a bunch of slices of Snickers bar....I am waging World War III within my walls, on two mice that are due for a painful death.
In other words.....Darth will get BLOODY.
Without further adieu, let's get the Weekender started, shall we?
What Are You Playing?
Been playing Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, Jeopardy, Trine 2, and a bit of Dark Souls 2. Mostly just filling the hours until these jobs start up.
What Are You Reading?
I've read through the entire Song Of Ice and Fire (or what's been released thus far) once....decided I'd give it another read. I finished up A Game Of Thrones last week, and am now midway through A Clash Of Kings, again.
What Are You Watching?
Various netflix series with Don Wildman. Very informative.
Enjoy your weekend.
You've been busy, I see.
I'm playing Sleeping Dogs and loving every minute of it. Been reading the series that TrueBlood is based on. It's OK, I got the first three for cheap, but I won't buy any more, I'll just check and see if the library has them. As for what I'm watching, well, mixed bag, as always. The Shield, season 9 of Supernatural (trying to catch up before too many episodes of the current season go by), enjoying the return of NCIS, Agents of SHIELD, and The Blacklist, and watching a random bunch of movies off Netflix and Amazon Prime.
Not as busy as I'd like.
I've just been doing what I can to fill the hours. I've been out of work for too long, and am anxious to start again...even if it's not the industrial field. I enjoy working with people though, so it'll be interesting to see how I fair in the retail/restaurant sector for the time being.
Read somewhere on here, either in one of your blogs or in a comment you made, that your little guy is six now. How the heck did that happen?! Seems like just yesterday he was two!
i know right? he talks waaaaay too much too
hey things are looking up, that's great! I wish u luck with the two new jobs. the toys r us job seems like it would be fun.
I fucking hate mice. always got them when i lived in philly. Killed many. Didn't matter, there was always more. They creep me out too.
What am I playing? Pier Solar and Banner Saga hopefully. Got to finish Banner Saga soon to review it.
What am I eating? Don't know tonight. Maybe chili.
What am I reading? The Flaubert novel. have about 30 pages left, and then it's on to a book about Bach meeting Frederick the Great.
What am I watching? Gonna watch the Flash, which i recorded, and football on sunday.
how is Pier Solar? Is it worth the 15? I'm thinking I may give it a whirl, if it is....
let me play some more of it and I'll let u know.
You're killing mice, I'm trying to adopt a cat.
I'm playing ... maybe Viewtiful Joe?
I still need to read The Fault In Our Stars and Divergent, cause I'm 12.
I might re-watch the new Legend of Korra episode.
And I'm back on my diet, so I'm eat ... oh, that section is gone.
Dude you should fully air-mail me your cat for a few days....I'll send it back fatter and with the predatory instincts of a....cat?
I was gonna say hawk, but that'd be too Inglourious Basterds lol
Playing Destiny still although come Tuesday I wll be changing gears to Borderlands Presequel. Destiny is getting to be a bit stale. Just too damn grindy, guess that's an mmo thing. Had the same problem with FF Realms.
I watched a really funny documentary called "King of Kong; Fist Full of Quarters". Its about a guy who decides to try and beat the top score for Donky Kong that has been in place for almost 20 years. And the guy who set the record is not going to let his score fall with out a fight. But that description really does not do the movie justice. There is so much more to it.
I am reading The Tao of Pooh by Benamin Hoff. This a very interesting book that uses the characters from Winnie the Pooh to explain and instruct the fundimentals of Taoism.
What happend? No food this time? lol Oh well, I had Korean Short ribs for lunch, but they were nothing to write home about.
you're right I totally spaced-off the What Are You Eating? section!
apologies....I'll not forget that again!!!
My roommate has these things that supposedly keep the mice away by using high pitched sounds. It seems to work. I haven't seen one in a while now.
Playing: Diddy Kong Racing, Earth Defense Force 2025 and Silent Hill: Book of Memories.
Reading: Freud's Interpretation of Dreams and a lecture series on St. Augustine's Confessions.
Watching: A friend of mine has been showing me Will Sasso's vines and lots of head cam military stuff on youtube. On Sunday I'll watch some Eagles vs. Giants football.
I was giving some thought about trying out for those classes to work in the North Dakota oil fields. they do need workers but I hear worker fatalites are 10 times the norm up there than anywhere else. Plus I don't think teh wife would want to move up there.
kill that meeseee!
Nice choice for gaming> i need to see about RE: OR one night.
My weekend will consist of more Ace Combat Infinity and some choice Octoberween game titles. Also some video watching of the X-Files.
Ok random oilfield story...I had no idea there were oilfields in California until the drive back from San Francsico. Back to you, good stuff man on getting out to the oilfields. Respect for pulling in the paychecks and getting ready to take that 40 hour class.
As for what I am playing...since this is Tueday (I'm late again) I started a new Dynasty with the Eastern Michigan Eagles in NCAA Football last night. Currently under Coach Chris they are 3-1 with a heartbreaking last second loss to Penn State. I chose EMU because they seem like a really bad team with a lot of uniform combinations.
Oh i WISH i were in the oilfield already dude....I'm actually working at a resaurant and at a toy store while waiting to take the HAZWOPERS class.
