They Might Be Giants - Why Does the Sun Shine?
Educational punk rock is great isn't it? They Might Be Giants alternate between being a weird goofy comedy rock, education rock, and weirdly introspective rock. They're the guys who do the Malcom in the Middle theme song, so they've been around for a while. Their music is just fun. And this song will get stuck in your head.
Tyler, The Creator - Tamale
Tyler, The Creator is crass, offensive for the sake of being offensive, and juvenile. Just the way I like my rap music.
He does show a startling degree of sophisticated introspection on some of his tracks, but not this one. This is fun pop rap that coasts from subject to subject. I love the line "Tell Spike Lee he's a goddamn N****r," (because he was angry about the use of the word in Django Unchained), and I especially love the film clip. It's weird, it's funny, and it's goofy.
To be honest, if you don't know this guy, you're living under a rock, but he's doing something different in the world of Pop Rap, and that's gotta be worth something.
Chevelle - Safewaters
A nice bit of alternate hard rock. Like a more sophisticated and talented version of Breaking Benjamin. Fun for people who aren't still teenagers inside as well :D
Final Fantasy - This is the Dream of Win and Regime
Beautiful indie pop with an awesome violin lead. Seriously, awesome stuff. And this is the guy who does the string section for a ton of bands - including the indie band who has every critic's tongue in their ass: Arcade Fire.
Cloud Cult - No One Said it Would Be Easy
Speaking of beautiful indie pop: This sounds like it could be the soundtrack to Thomas Was Alone. Just beautiful stuff.

Hey They Might Be Giants! I never heard of them until I went to college when a lot of my Bay Area friends would always play their stuff. Oh the cool flashbacks. I'm going to check out more of Chevelle's stuff, and I like that Cloud Cult single. Thanks for sharing!

They Might be Giants are also quite known for also suplying songs for animated series and even did one for Homestar Runner. That was a nice educational song over there.
You also forgot to add something on Tyler, The Creator besides silly or introspective: Goddam scary. Remeber Jonkers?
Chevelle didn't do too much for me before, but this song now does. I like melodic music and it helps that it reminded me of Incubus, one of my favorite bands.
