Well first off let me say theres no spoilers in this blog so read away, so I have been very excited about the game and was skeptical that it would live up to Origins excellent Baldurs Gate Rpg so does it my answer is most definitely yes and even better so straight up I do beleive its better now until future patches help Sonys issues better on the 360 & Xbone something about the color palette and glitches hold back Sonys version and although I officially havent heard anything about the two the one I saw on the ps3 & ps4 was not as good as the 360 or Xbone, I have been playing for around 25 to 30 hours and other then a few frame rate drops I havent ran into any issues as of yet, and to be fair it may just be the ps3 and ps4 we played on that was the problem so by any means im not downgrading Sony.
So as far as the game is concerned im loving it there is so much to do you may feel overwhelmed with all the quest side quest etc, as a matter of fact I set off to do a quest and accidentally find something else on the map then next thing I know im off exploring instead of completing the quest I set off to do, one odd thing that im not to sure about is while completing quest you earn power which is a kind of currency for unlocking other areas and maps to explore which is kinda odd but so far it hasnt bothered me but one word of caution dont go unlocking areas and then go there to explore before your ready or you will be getting killed very quick, I suggest taking your time and complete all quest in one area before rushing to the other, the map system in DAI is superb it has one of the best mapping systems I have ever played its very well done, I just can't get over how huge this game is I have even heard you get a castle later to where you run the country even in charge of prisoners whether to execute them or put them in prison you can have a war built country a economics built country etc like I said this game is huge.
The graphics are amazing im not kidding yall the Xbox One was just beautiful I mean its the best looking graphics to date in my opinion when I saw a character from previous Dragon Age which I won't say as im not going to spoil anything, really in my opinion next to Skyrim its the best western RPG I have ever played and a must buy for any RPG fan.
Western RPGs are non-turn-based regarding combat, yes? Been seeing lots of ads for this one and it looks good.
Mainstream ones usually are these days. But that's not a rule. WRPGs were turn-based long before JRPGs were on the scene, and a lot of the indie and crowd-funded games coming out use TB combat.
And I hope its a trend that comes back we need more Turn based Rpgs from Western developers jrpgs are good but almost always have Japanese voice overs it would be nice to have western voice overs.

My current problem with the game is that I can't play it in my gameroom. I play games in my gameroom on a big sd tv. Sd makes DA3 look like ass and it's almost unplayable. Any text on the screen can't be read. Moving my 360 to my bedroom is the only way I can start playing DA3 again.
I dont have any issues at all im playing on my big screen and it looks great sorry to hear that.

I did happen to find the Dragon Age dual pack on Xbox 360 but I passed on it. They wanted $40+ used for it.

it's okay mate. I probably won't have the money for it given the holidays coming up. Plus there is a good chance I might not like them. For some odd reason I can't get into Bioware titles. I own Star Wars: KoToR, Jade Empire and Mass Effect and I can't get into them. I'm sure they are great games but for some reason they are just not fun forme. Don't know why.
Well if you decide you do let me know cause I will get them for you I dont do this for many people but I will for you me and you seem to have alot in common on games especially flight sims which by the way im still playing Infinity lol!! If I were you I would grab Dragon Age 2 and see if you like the battle system the games cheap at gamestop and is more action based fighting like Diablo DAI has both Tactical or Hack in Slash but if your unsure thats the one I would check out if I were you.
I want to do a review for DAI, but I'm only 20 hours in. This game is massive. @_@
