Pixlbit nation, it is only a couple of days until a fat dude in red hands out gifts. Isn’t it an exciting time? I do love the Christmas season. The cool weather, people decorating their homes, the music, and buzz at malls. Ok the last one is kind of funky but I do dig it. Anyways since this is my ultra rare Quick Hits, Christmas Special Tin Case Day One Edition With Pre-Order Bonus, anything you good people are hoping to get? As an adult I still like to look under the tree to find boxes with my name on it, so I’m hoping for presents. I don’t care if it is clothes, toys, video games, just as long as I get something to open! Anyways let’s get this special combo blog started shall we?
Two Games Come Off Mount Backlog
I spent a good chunk of time playing a couple of games and they are now on the beaten list. Good stuff! The first game I think I spent 35 hours on, but unlike the first time I played this game on the PS3, I wasn’t trying to finish everything all at once, and I was rewarded with this
My fourth Platinum Trophy and first on the PS4. I did enjoy this game but there are a ton of bugs in this game. There was one where collected minikits would disappear from my total in an level that I had to replay the sections a couple of times to make sure I got them. Also a couple of the races are insanely difficult but thanks to some “creative” ways I was able to beat them (it involved parking a vehicle in front of one character, and pushing another character’s vehicle to crash into a wall). Despite all of this, I enjoyed the overall product; looking for Stan Lee, collecting gold bricks, and doing random tasks were a lot of fun.

The second game I played through the Story Mode and this is I think the second game I ever played through on the Vita, PS3, and PS4. I wish I could have finished it on the tablet, but hopefully I can fix that in 2015. After finishing the Story Mode, I decided to take in some versus, and I will tackle the classic modes. It is a shame that the Vita version doesn’t connect with the console and tablet versions because there are a lot of things to unlock and use in other games.
Other Games Chris Is Playing
So there were other games I’ve been playing when I wasn’t taking off the two games off Mount Backlog.
I played a bit of NBA 2K14 on a couple of occasions. The streaming to the Vita is good, and it was a little odd trying to hit the back pad to use R2 L2. One thing I absolutely HATE about this game is everything is connected to online use. When trying to load my game save for my NY Knicks GM save file it said it couldn’t connect and wouldn’t load. What the hell! I ended up starting a new game with the Denver Nuggets, and the next day my Knicks game save worked again. I miss games that didn’t need online connections.
The next game is the soda version of Candy Crush. I don’t know why I started playing it but I did, and I wouldn’t say I’m hooked but I do manage to sneak in one game every other day. If you haven’t played it, don’t start. It’s dumb.
I also decided to go “shopping” through my PS3 library to pick out a couple of games I want to tackle next. I have a stack of maybe half dozen games, with the majority of them I haven’t really played and out of that stack which is the first game I pop into the PS3? Lego Marvel. I’m on this kick right now where I know I can get the 100% especially after learning the fun tricks of winning the races on the Helicarrier. I took both down with little resistance, and after I unlock Silver Surfer, I’m taking on the aerial races.
Apparently I haven’t played this game in over a year…and I take really bad pictures in the dark. I’ve noticed that the character switching takes a bit longer, and Helicarrier elevator is also a long ride in the PS3 version compared to the PS4. Those crazy load times!
What Chris Watches
I’m currently typing this blog on Sunday Night while charging/syncing my iPod and I am watching The Sound Of Music Sing-A-Long edition aka Sound Of Music Karaoke. I do love me some Sound of Music, and even though I already own this film in a couple of different formats, I’m still watching it.
*At this point I stopped typing for the night because the Von Trapp kids just sang and their father is now singing to them. I'm now waiting for the scene where Gwen Stefani borrowed the beat
So I guess Homeland and The Affair had their Season Finale’s last night because after watching all we got was a “hey there’s going to be another season” reminder. Both shows got really good at this point which is how they get you to keep watching. I did think that The Affair was going to be a one season show, but I'm not complaining about a new season.
The most important watch of the weekend was Dallas Cowboys vs. Indianapolis Colts, where the Cowboys came out like they were pissed and beat down the Colts
NFC East Division is nice, but we want more!
Mini Pickups!
Since Christmas is a couple of days away the majority of my pickups were for other peeps, but there were a couple of things for me. Oh as a bonus there was a buy 1 get 1 50% off on certain games at Target. I thought about picking up a couple of games but decided against it. Instead I bought an album
And I guess I really did buy the music of a young teen girl because this album came with stickers
I really should just go on a rap album-buying spree just so I can get my man card back. This is what happens when you can’t get that Boom Clap song out of your head.
My final stop of the day was to the local Ross because I wanted to see if they had any new sneakers. I found a couple I liked but not enough to buy them (Kobe Adidas Crazy 8s, and some pair of old Deion Sanders signature shoe with some snake skin accents). I looked through the hats and found one of my favorite NFL logo caps
I loved this logo since it replaced the old Bucco Bruce, and my first Bucs cap since college, when they first did the unveiling. The current jerseys are awful, but damn I love this look.
The next thing I found was a jersey of one of my favorite players Michael Vick
I refused to buy this while he was an Eagle because they’re division rivals of the Cowboys but since he is with the Jets now it is ok to buy this and add it to my other Vick jersey.
Here is the best part about the two things I bought, the hat was $7 and the jersey was $10. So for around 50% of the original cost of the hat I got a jersey and a cap. Also the jersey is the “swingman” type where the numbers look like they are stitched on.
Alright Pixlbit I am going to cut this short because I woke up with a crazy headache this morning and I am trying to fight the urge to jump back into bed. Before I go, I hope you good people of Pixlbit Nation have a safe and wonderful Holiday Season. May you all get to spend time with the people you care about, eats lots of good food, maybe sneak in a game or two, and of course enjoy this time of year! I always thought it would be cool if Mama and Papa Mario were real Mario characters. MAybe someday....
I think if it did include action figures they would be the Lego Minifigs 
I like how the fact Vick played for the Eagles is the point of controversy with you ... lol.
Good lord I hate that any game would have to be connected online. I'm equally disappointed with how bad that Gwen Stefani song is, given how awesome she is in other songs. I know you probably like it and I can't disrespect you for your opinion. But I can disagree and tell you it sucks.
The Cowboys were fired up after that Christmas gift the Redskins gave them. It helps that apparently TY Hilton is the only person on that team who can catch a ball and he wasn't playing. That failed fake punt is the talk of the town today. lol They need to cut that crap out though (Cowboys), cause obviously teams have seen that play on film and if that pass gets caught that's a dangerous momentum shift.
If we're talking purely about how logos and uniforms look, I really like the Seahawks. Their bird looks menacing and lean, their uniforms look cool and I love watching them play. In fact, they've become sort of a Wild Card team for me behind the Cowboys and Packers and the fact Russel Wilson is my favorite player on that team and the Texas Rangers own his baseball rights only helps.
Speaking of liking multiple teams, I'm hoping Green Bay beats Lions not only cause they're my equal favorite team with the Cowboys, but because that would mean I can postpone having to root against them in favor of the Cowboys. I just think it would be awesome if the Cowboys won another Super Bowl in a year where they were supposed to go 4-12. Sights set higher indeed. Garrett told everyone to give their NFC East hats away after the picture with them on, because their sights are set higher. Love the attitude in that locker room.
Haha, nah he did his time, acknowledged what he did was wrong, so its not something I'm going to hold over his head.
Gwen Stefani is such a fun summer pop song, and I like it more for the beat than the actual lyrics.
I'd like to thank the NFC East for just tanking at the end of the year and for the Skins for not playing football this year.
I do like the totem pole Seahawk logo. It is such a cool logo that represents the area. The uniforms at first I thought were a complete mess, but now I kind of dig them.
I always like to blame Garrett for everything but his team is doing well especially for being picked to have the worst defense in NFL History.
