Happy official first day of BaD, everyone! I have several reasons for being happy today. First and foremost: Patriots won the Super Bowl. Any comments hating on the Patriots will be deleted. You can hate them, just do it elsewhere. It was an awesome game, against a great opponent, and to be truthful, I thought it was over when Kearse made that incredible catch. Butler should have gotten MVP instead of Brady, in my opinion, because he certainly saved them with that last minute interception.

My other reason for being happy...well, I dunno as I'm happy about it, but I'm certainly making the best of it... Third snowstorm in six days here in the northeastern corner of the USA. First one brought us about two feet, second one around ten inches, this one is supposed to drop a foot on us when it's all done. All I know is, all three storms have been accompanied by high winds and it's been the drifts that have been the worst part. Whatever. I'll shovel tomorrow morning, no point to it until then, it'll all fill back in by morning anyway. But - golden lining moment here, folks - today's storm has given me the gift of not having to leave the house, and I have spent the day playing Tales of Xillia 2.

Today is also Imbolc, the Celtic celebration of spring. It'll be a while before that happens here, but it does give hope for the winter-weary. Which I'm not, give me until the end of the month, and then I will be.

I'm going to leave you all with a video of my friend Troy Bennett singing a song he wrote during the blizzard last Tuesday. It sums up my thoughts about the so-called "storm of the century" quite well.

I was thinking about it the other day and I think one of the reasons I turned off Xillia was that doll that one girl character had.  I think the voice acting made me want to stick a fork in my eye.

Still, I kind of want to finish playing it, but I'm gonna finish Tales of the Abyss first once I get a new 3DS.

Enjoy the snow.  I'm in short sleeves here.  The weather has been a little damp, but mostly sunny and cool.  San Francisco like weather, MY favorite.

Teepo kind of grew on me after a while. Especially when I realized how powerful Elize was when I figured out how her special abilities worked.

The Patriots are the worst team in existance. I don't know who they are - I'm guessing they're football players - but fuck them anyway.

I've still never played a Tales game. Where would be a good place to start?

Fuck off, Blake.

And for a first Tales experience, I'd recommend Symphonia. The PS3 HD version doesn't seem to be a whole lot different than the Game Cube one, so which ever one fits your hardware requirements.

I hate the Patriots, but I'm not too bummed out by the game since it was a great game and I hate the Seahawks too. I'll take that over last year's Superbowl any day.

Other than the Jets and the Raiders, I don't really hate any team. And yeah, that was a great game, especially being a Pats fan. Everybody forgets that the first 41 years the franchise existed, they sucked. More losses that wins, several 1-15, 2-14, 3-13 seasons.

Black box where the video should be for me. Maybe just my office computer?

Congrats to your Pats! I hate that play call to throw it at the end for the Seahawks, but at least it wasn't an officiating call. Thank God.

Hmm...I can see it, but that doesn't mean anything. Here's the link: Click!

Go Pats Go!

I'm a Patriots fan by proxy. My best friend from childhood has always been a Patriots fan even through the years and years of disappointment. His brother used to be a big deal at the Copley Plaza so we got to stay there for free one weekend and take in a Pats and a Bruins game.

Haven't played Xillia yet. I still need to finish up Vesperia. I was really enjoying that game while my PS3 was out of commission.

I've never been to a game, always watched on TV. I have been to Gillette Stadium, though, for four Women's World Cup games back in 2003. I think I'm probably pretty happy watching the game from home, though.

Xillia 2 is really good, but it really is a true sequel. Takes place a year later and most of the playable characters from the first one are playable in the second one.

I don't remember all that much about either game. I have no idea why. :D

I'm definitely playing Xillia first. I just need to finish Suikoden II, Persona Q and RE Remaster first

Tales of Xillia 1 and 2 are sitting on my shelf collecting dust.  I finished Graces f (PS3) last year.  I thought it was pretty good.

I played a bit of Lost Odyssey last night.  That game is hard or I'm just not getting it.  The thought of quitting crossed my mind.  I'm still at the beginning of the game and I'm getting destroyed in battles.

Where are you in Lost Odyssey? The key to combat in that game is understanding and using the ring system to your best advantage. Also, magic is your best friend early on, and understanding which elements are weak to which other elements is important. Earth is strong against water, water is strong against fire, fire is strong against wind, and wind is strong against earth. And you'll want to upgrade equipment whenever you can. Spend a lot of time grinding during that first section - you'll want to be at least level 15 before you hit your first boss, and it shows up in the middle of nowhere shortly after the Mountain Hut. After that, the difficulty level gets less steep. Message me here if I can help more.

Not much into sports, but good for them on winning.

I hated football until my boyfriend took the time to teach me the rules and the strategy.

Fluffy rain. I'm going to remember that.

Yup, fluffy rain. One inch of rain is equal to about a foot of snow.
