Very interesting review. Do you recommend to start first with the original? I'm seeing it on Steam for a low price, so I may play that before the remake.

Honestly I would. I think Abe's Exoddus is an easier game to jump into than Oddyssee though, so if you can grab that too, I'd recommend it. The only problem with the originals is getting them to work properly with a controller. Or at least I had issues with them. Plus widescreen issues.

Huh, was going to play this since it was a free Plus game, but now I think I'll play the originals on my Vita instead since they were free Plus games before. Thanks Blake!

damn.  Actually, I've never played one of these.  Which one should I play?

Abe's Exoddus has the best gameplay and aesthetic imo.

But you can get the whole series really cheap on steam, including Munch's Oddysee (which I'm not a massive fan of) and Strangers Wrath (which is pretty cool). It's 12 bucks for the whole series, or 5 bucks for the first 2, or 3 dollars for Abe's Exoddus or Oddysee individually.

I have both the originals as part of my PS+ subscription. I played the first one on PC originally though. I won't go out of my way to get the remake now. Might as welll stick with what I've got.

I did read your article because you said I wanted to.

I didn't know that this was a remake of the Playstation game, which is good for me because I bought a copy of the original a long time ago, but never gave it a chance. Hopefully this game gets me into the mood to go back and try the original again.

I bought this game a few weeks ago but haven't gotten around to playing it yet.  It's dissapointing hearing about the flaws in the remake, especially the stuff about not having the ability to see the entire screen at once.  I still plan on playing it though.  The original was one of my favorite games ever.  It was one of the main reasons I originally bought a Playstation my freshman year at college (with the second reason being the original Tony Hawk).
