Good morning Pixlbit Nation! It is a cool 51 degrees here in sunny SoCal, the land where winter is a week. I’m currently running on an odd schedule I think I may have eaten something funky at lunch yesterday, woke up at 4:30am, played some 2K, and then went back to sleep at 6, and woke up at 7:30. I got to sleep in all of 30 minutes from my usual 7:15am alarm. I’m seriously debating on going back to sleep the moment I finish this edition of Quick Hits, but there’s so much basketball today that I might overlook the fatigue and upset stomach. Anyways you folks have better things to do than listen to me whine about nonsense so let’s get started!

Arrow – Some spoilers so black box city

In the return of the show I like to call the best Batman show on television, we continue where Ra’s is giving Ollie a tour of the Ra’s Al Ghul lair/Cave/Building, and Ra’s was trying to sell him on being the next Ra’s. Ollie leaves with Diggle and Merlyn and Merlyn lets him know this isn’t a decision and that his hand will be forced.

Ollie comes back to Starling and realizes his life is starting to fall apart again where the girl he loves, likes someone else, the trust built up between him and Captain Lance is done, and he doesn’t know why he’s doing his Green Batman deal.

In the Flashback Ollie and little kid (I forgot his name) are still running away from the unknown folks and we run into Shado. Yes the same girl Ollie didn’t pick to save is apparently alive because nobody nobody dies on this show. I’m waiting for Tommy to show up as a new enemy and hell bring back Sara again.

I can’t wait to see what happens between Green Batman and Fake Ironman (ATOM). Who does Felicity side with, who will win the actual battle, will fake Commissioner Gordon err Captain Lance be down with Green Batman, and since Nyssa and Laurel are becoming friends I’d love to see her train her and have Black Canary become a total badass.

The Challenge & After Show

So this week The Challenge had its last elimination in Norway. There were some changes when Hurricane Nia decided to go Hurricane Nia and managed to get herself kicked off due to some bad behavior. On the After Show she apologized for actions, and everyone was fine with it. The part I found hilarious is Bananas still continued acting like he witnessed his best friend being shot by Sarah and Jordan, and his salty level was insane comparing her to a psychopathic killer, and crossing a friend. Yeah because everyone’s goal on this show is to not win the 125k. Sarah and Jordan made the right call because the rookies are useless. Of course you get rid of one of the powerful teams.

The Finals, and reunion shows will be next week and I wonder how they will deal with the deaths of Diem and Knight. I kind of have an idea of who won based on a slip up on the After Show but I'm going to watch anyways. Oh I almost forgot easily my favorite line from the show is when Nany said this gem “Where is Norway?”

I have to say that the first two episodes are a bit underwhelming. I was expecting more but it was more along the lines of the previous couple of seasons instead of the first two seasons. I’m hoping it picks up but so far I do like the addition of Padget Brewster to the cast. I liked her on Criminal Minds and on Friends so its nice to see her return to “TV” (I watched one episode on the iPad, and the other through Apple TV.)

I’m catching up on the previous season because just like this current season I always forget what day its on. Hopefully when I finish this season, the new season will be available on Netflix.

In another episode of Chef’s Who Can’t Cook I started rooting for Sarah because she brings no drama (so far) and after checking Google I found this

Apparently she did some modeling before coming on Chef’s Who Can’t Cook.

NCAA Tournament

How freaking good was yesterday? I didn’t have UAB or Georgia State winning but it was fun to watch. I had Iowa State going to the Elite 8 where they were going to get beat by SDSU. I did have UCLA over SMU, but wow that was such a terrible shot, and how could that be goaltending if the ball wasn’t going to hit the rim? Anyways my Aztecs play tonight against St. Johns in the dreaded 8/9 matchup. Winner gets Duke.

St. Patrick’s Day

Last year I was sick so I was sick so I couldn’t take advantage of green colored everything. This year I was good so I got to wear my Green Angels cap and these sneakers

Yeah for St. Paddy’s Day I didn’t do much. I think all I did was that I visited my new favorite taco spot, and grabbed a Shamrock Shake from McDonalds.

So my local muni course had this banner up

And after watching YouTube about it, I really want to try this. It’s basically soccer meets golf where you kick the ball and try and get it into a giant cup. It sounds crazy but fun. Have any of you folks ever tried it?

This usually belongs in pickups but earlier this week I bought a new lens for my camera

I was using the regular kit lens for a while and it was ok but I do like using this telephoto lens.

I’m digging this lens and here are a couple of pictures I took on my walk. Remember folks I’m all beginner mode and most of my picture taking has come from my iPhone (I’ve had some older Digital Point and Shoots but nothing too fancy.)

So at the Target I went to they had the usual clearance and an endcap full of Buy 1 Get 1 Free games

My cousin pointed out that the games don’t have special barcode stickers and many of the same games can be found on the value wall so what’s stopping folks from mixing and matching from these two walls? Anyways I picked up this game from the Clearance section

Sunday I took a trip to the local mom & pop music store and hit the Buy 5 for $1.99 get 5 free and added to my pop music collection.

Ok so a random Blues album got snuck in there.

Fergie was $4 and I remember when it came out I liked it. Listened to it again, and well I don’t like it as much as I thought. Oh well.

Toys

I finally jumped on the Oyo Zamboni

I built it, and I left it on a table. When my cousin’s little girl came to visit she wanted to play with the Lego and for some reason she wanted to play with the Zamboni. Hopefully the Zamboni is in a Lego bin because its no longer on the table.

While looking at the packaging I noticed that the NHL Shield and the hologram sticker was wrong. At first I thought it was just flipped but then looking at it, even the letters are all messed up. LNH? It was weird but kind of an interesting thing.

I’m back at looking through Hot Wheels again, but I found some new Batman stuff

I missed out on the regular release of the Bat-pod, but I found these (they were like $2 compared to the $1 Hot Wheels)

I also found a Snoopy car with a better condition card. The McLaren is just cool looking. I found another Batmobile and Snoopy at the Target with the Buy 1 Get 1 Endcap but I left them. Hopefully whoever finds them, needed them for their collection. 

Alright Pixlbit we are at the end of this week’s Quick Hits. I’m not really wanting to go back to sleep because I’m wide awake now so I might go outside and take some pictures. Anyways have a good weekend and since my Aztecs are playing tonight S-D-S-U, SDSU AZTECS FIGHT!
