Do you like your music experimental, yet somewhat accessible and melodious? Well, you're in for a treat. Leprous are the prog voice this generation needed.  So far they've four albums. One of those albums is pretty good, while the rest are nothing short of masterpieces. The music is weird, polyrythmic, and varying in influences. Yet it's all brought together by the wonderful vocalist who has one of this generations best voices.

They released a new album recently. Check this shit out.

Also, I'd like to point out how ridiculously handsome these guys are. In Norway and Sweden, only supermodels play metal apparently.

Supermodels? Well I guess that's ok unless they turn out to be the Metal Milli Vanilli. :)

I'll cue this for listening to this aft.

This shit is great! I need to hear the whole album now. I give it six wings up!

Glad you like it :). Yeah, Bilateral is their first "amazing" album, and it's also their most insane. It's more prog than the newer two ("Coal", and "The Congregation"), which dial back the craziness for coherence and atmosphere. All three are great.

 Enjoy :)

I'm buying whatever I can from Leprous. I want to support this kind of talent. That track was from The Congregration. I'll need to check out bilateral soonest.

Yeah, coal is probably my favourite because it mixes the crazy with the atmosphere, but bilateral is just plain fun.

I'm listening to Coal right now. Bilateral is next. :)

I love it. Thanks to a free 3 months of Apple Music on my work iPad I can bathe in it for a while. :)

Been jamming to Leprous since you tossed this track up here, great stuff. Also, been listening to Haken, Rishloo, and Karnivool thanks to this recommendation, all of which are great too.

Goddamn I love prog.

Karnivool is great, saw them live for their last album, and it was intense. Haken is awesome too but I need to listen to more. Glad you liked it!

Missed that you mentioned rishloo, that guy also has an amazing voice!

Awesome, after hearing their stuff I'm sure their live show is kick ass. Haken is damn solid too, really loving them.

Thanks to some recommendations from a friend I'm also listening to Be'lakor and Ne Obliviscaris (you Aussies know how to fucking jam). Of Breath and Bone from Be'lakor is just incredible.

Posted on July 1, 2015 3:28 AM

I haven't heard much of Be'lakor (other than I should get off my ass and fucking listen to it), but Ne Obliviscaris is great. I must say I preferred their black metal inspired first album over their second, since their second is a touch pretentious, could do with breaking songs up into parts, and I feel the death growl feels really forced. It's still awesome though of course :).

That was quite great. Digged how the song is melodic together with the Prog Metal but without compromising either one.

Yep it's aweskme. On their first album they sounded a bit like a weirdet opeth, but now they don't use their growl much, which is a shame because theirs is quite strabge and amusing. That said his singing voice is so damn good. Glad ylu liked jt
