Hey everyone! I haven’t been around here much, although I have been keeping up with most of your blogs. I really haven’t been helping out with the site or commenting too often, which is unfortunate. I miss being involved with PixlBit!
I have been away for several reasons, the biggest of which is forcing myself to spend most of my free time learning Unity and trying to develop games on my own. I have worked on several projects, and once I hit a big milestone in one of them, I decided I was probably half way through the project. It wasn’t too daunting, but I decided I wanted to complete a game start to finish in less time.
This led me to resurrect the simple game I made for the FlappyJam game jam in 2014. Certainly I could craft a whole bunch of levels instead of just having things fly at you with varying speeds! No big deal! Well, it took a lot longer than I anticipated, but I am releasing Frothy Bird tomorrow (September 29th) at 9:00 a.m. Central.
If you have access to a PC with Windows 8.1 or later, or in the less likely event you have a Windows Phone, please go download my free game and give it a try. To give you an idea of what the game is like, I threw together this trailer.
If you do get to play the game, let me know your honest thoughts on it. I am in this to learn as I go, so if you lie to me, it will do me no good!
I am also going to try to relax a bit more for a while, catch up on some games, and finally finish the blog I told Mikey I would write about Thief (you should grab it from the bargain bin and play it). Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you guys around!
Good to hear from you. Good luck on game design.
Link says page I am looking for not found.
Sorry, it's almost time, but just another couple of hours to wait.
Neither are the droids.
Alec Guinness hates that you remember that line and he wants to make your children cry.
The link above is now working great on my end. Hope you like it, Joe!
Good to hear from you Travis I will try your game as soon as I get a chance.
hey I'm sorry I haven't provided more music for your other game... I get distracted. Maybe I can dig stuff out of the archive for you instead.
Otherwise, glad to hear from you, Travis!!!
No worries, Matt! This is the project I set aside so I could finish something all the way faster. I'm not sure if that happened or not, but here we are. I will let you know what I do next!
Played it. It's simple and enjoyable to play. Except the tank noise. Fair warning, turn the sound down when tanks start rolling.
Haha, fair enough. I will put that on the list for the next update. Glad you found it enjoyable.
