Metallica – Master of Puppets S&M Version

Now you ask why this version instead of the album version? Well the beginning where it starts off quiet with lead guitar and strings. That build up leading up to the drums going all out building right up to the beginning of the song. From that point on it is one hell of a roller coaster ride for the next seven minutes. This is easily my favorite Metallica album because of the clash of genres, and how well they compliment each other. The symphony brings additional depth to the music. Instead of your typical loud drums and guitar, you have the soft strings from the symphony that in their own way hold their own. This song is one hell of an audio ride, and remember when I said how I Can Hear Music was a perfect song? I feel the same about this song.

The Challenge: Invasion – MTV

One of the best things on MTV is The Challenge and it is back. This season the cast is split up into Underdogs the group that hasn't won a previous Challenge

And the second group that hasn't been revealed to the Underdogs the Champs

These are the folks that have one at least one Challenge, including the return of CT to competition.

There was a two episode premier where the Underdogs were under the impression that they were the only ones competing this season which quickly caused some in the cast to try and become the “leaders” of the people. Minutes after getting the news people were talking about having an equal chance, fresh start, and then quickly jockey to be the folks who pull strings, alliances, and scheming. One of the competitors Nelson is positing himself as “The Leader” when especially after he had some blowup with Tony after an event. The worst of it all is that there is a group of four from the Real World Skeletons, who all seemed cool with each other, and three of them managed to stick together except for one, Sylvia who gave into what is essentially high school bullying and turned on her friends. The one thing is that if they do another Rivals Tony, the guy she turned on, and her will be a team.

I'm excited for this season and I can't wait for the Champs to show up, and squash this team of Underdogs and in doing so take all the money. I'm rooting for the Champs, and Jenna on the Underdogs side because she is the Barbie Beast. In every Challenge she's been in, she's finished in the Finals.

I'm still on my 50 new songs a day pace

And if I keep it up by Monday I should be in the 8,000s for unlistened to and unrated songs in my library. An interesting note is that because of some CD pickups I had last week the music portion of my iTunes library is now over 50,000 tracks.

Roaming Around Stores...

One of the .99 Cents Only stores put this sign up at an empty display a couple of days ago

The resellers are hitting these stores because a couple of online retailers are selling the same items for $2-7 bucks. The crazy thing is if you walk into a Target or other big box retailer they're selling the same items for full retail. Hopefully parents, kids, whoever is playing the game or collecting the figures know.

Also couldn't someone take a Sharpie to the sign and black out the other .99? 

Speaking of retailers and Lego

You are insane Best Buy. With a quick check of eBay there are a couple of them for $5. Hell Polybags go for about $3-5. Good luck moving them.

I'm not a huge Garth Brooks fan but when these hit $10 I'll buy one

Ten discs of music is a heck of a deal even if I probably have a couple of his albums already. Also if you follow Shipwreck from CAG on Twitter people have been sending him pictures of the Clearance displays that have the Garth Brooks box sets. Because of this I've been waiting for a price drop to pick one up.

Games

Two separate trips to .99 Cents Only stores and this is what I picked up

I decided to build a ninja army because for .99 Cents you get two figures, a bunch of weapons, and some interesting pieces to use in other builds. 

And a trip last night to a store I don't normally visit because its in a sketchy part of a neighboring town

I finally found the Marty McFly Back to the Future Level Packs that people started finding last week. I already own the Level Pack but to have extra Marty minifigures in the Lego collection along with hoverboards, and guitars is a bonus.

Music

I picked up a couple of CDs from the Mom and Pop

I really enjoyed Arrested Development's live album. I think I liked it more than their studio release. If this is what they sounded like live, this must have been a hell of a concert. I liked Can't Hardly Wait. It was a fun teen flick and the soundtrack isn't bad. 

I almost bought the Are You That Somebody single by Aalyiah a couple of days before but held off on it and thank goodness because it came from the Dr. Doolittle Soundtrack, and that's the first CD I saw at the mom and pop. Now I have the single, as well as a couple of other songs that made it to playlists.
