Pokemon Blue (I was an 8-year-old in the middle of the craze; I liked the game, had the cards ... and preferred the Digimon TV show, pretty much not watching Pokemon once Togepi was on. I still remember getting a VHS promoting the show in the mail well before the pilot aired)

Just found out Rival Schools came to PSX in '98. I'm sorry, RIVAL SCHOOLS. 
Rival Schools was amazing. Why the series was never more popular is beyond me.
I was wacked out on drugs as my band was racing up the charts in '98. No time for games except that time my roadie showed me Spyro the Dragon and I said, "That dragon is bad ass, but why is he purple, man?" Then I made a rude joke and went back to my groupies.
But all kidding aside, I was likely playing Turok 2 and Star Wars: Rogue Squadron on N64 to the nerdy tunes from Genesis' box set, Archive '67-'75 with my friend Mark. . . No groupies, no blow. . . my band played some gigs at a Curling Club for like $20 each.
I didn't know you, Mark and Snee were in a band together! (I know Snee was in a different band). That's cool you got paid to play though. I've only ever been paid for comedy once and there wasn't much competition.
I honestly didn't like Rogue Squadron on N64. Thought it was too hard. Only ever saw Turok once at a friend's place, but always loved the concept, which is partly why I was so hyped for Horizon.
Ha! That would be a funny band. Mark could definitely be a crazy drummer. Matt'd be the front man and I'd be the good looking bass player all the girls want. Ha!
Yea, Rogue was hard. Turok was ok. I played it because it was an FPS like Doom, Quake and Duke Nukem. Not quite as good though. Oh yeah, didn't see the Turok/Horizon connection 'till just now. Neat.
I was in college in 1998 so things were a bit of a blur. I know I reviewed a lot of games for the newspaper. That was when things really started to pick up for me.

Wooo games I played in college! I didn't own a Nintendo 64 at the time so I didn't play much of their games but anything Playstation I was playing. GT I wasn't a fan of because it was actual driving and on the Playstation Controller it was funky (for me). X-Men vs Street Fighter was fun but a lot more fun when I played against my residents. Metal Gear Solid, I still haven't finished the game. Spyro was fun but I didn't play much of it. Need for Speed, I used to give my uncle a 10 second head start before I would beat him. Apacalypse, was that the game with Bruce Willis? I played through that one weekend but I used a God Mode cheat.
Yup, that was the Bruce Willis game where I think the boss was Satan?
