Well good morning Pixlpeeps! I hope you good people had a wonderful weekend that full of games and other fun gaming related items. I didn't spend a lot of time on games this past weekend because of a little event that was on the WWE Network known as WrestleMania 33. It did have some game moments when the hosts The New Day dressed up as characters from Final Fantasy

The year before that they dressed up as Dragonball Z

(Thanks for the pics WWE)

WrestleMania went on all day on Sunday but it was fun to watch and there were some dull moments but I won't get into that here, instead I'll save that for Quick Hits. Let's get started with a look back at last month and what I've been playing.

Chris Reviews March

In the month of March I started five games but did not complete any of them. To be fair I would have finished Borderlands earlier if I actually kept up with it. My three Steam games I should be able to finish within the next two weeks if I keep up with it. Borderlands I should easily finish this week because after checking out a mission list I'm at most four missions away from the end.

Chris Plays...

Borderlands – Steam

In my quest to be the Terminator and walking around taking down everything in my path I'm starting to collect some decent weapons and mods. Since I'm playing with game enhancements (video game steroids) I boosted my storage to around 70 items. I don't want to get too greedy and 70 is a lot of space. The picture above is all the weapons I dumped when I started picking up some decent gear.

Burnout Paradise – Steam

I don't do much in the game because for some reason it won't accept my login stuff for online (or online may have been removed) so I just cruise around. I already completed the game on PS3 so there is no rush to play through it again. Roaming around as fast as possible in the game is my Fast and Furious Experience.

Mortal Kombat XL/InJustice – Steam

I'm just playing through the story mode, trying to learn the moves instead of my normal hit all the buttons and hope for the best. I'm further into MK than I am into InJustice, but after watching part of Batman vs. Superman (WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME?) I played a bit of the game.

Simpsons Tapped Out – iOS

New month means more land expansion, and a new community game where you play as a spy and when you visit other Springfield's you tap on buildings to wire tap them. I don't know what's up with the game but I seem to be stuck on Level 1 when I thought I should be at least Level 2. Anyways at some point I need to get rid of some folks on the friends list who stopped playing the game to make room. I'm also getting back into the grove and I need to push through to raise my level to where it should have been if I didn't stop playing.

Mortal Kombat X Mobile – Android

Speaking of picking something up and trying to get to the level where I should be I've started playing the Shao Khan Tower and really I should have been finished with it if I actually kept up with playing it.

Instead I just unlocked the second section to master. I need to catch up.

Disney Emoji Blitz – iOS

I don't know what some folks on my friends list are doing but they are getting crazy scores. I like to think they are using all the bonus power-ups to achieve these high scores of 5, 6 million while I'm topping out at 3 million with just a character. Anyways I unlocked a couple of new emojis

Sven was a Gold Blind Box buy for 30,000 gold coins, and Winnie The Pooh was a 200 Gems Blind Box (the premium box). I won't use them until my current character Ursula hits Level 1000, which I'm hoping is the max so I can use other characters to get them up to that level. My next highest are in the 600s, Ursula is in the mid 900s.

The final game I tried and then quickly removed was the newest game offering from a current movie

Power Rangers: Legacy Wars – iOS

I decided to give this a go, hoping that it would be in the same style as other fighting games. It kind of is, with the exception of actual fight style which is just terrible, and I don't get why people are giving it high marks on Google Play.

Power Rangers is a PVP game where you face other folks (I'm assuming its just the teams of other folks) and you fight. You have a team of three characters where one character as your main fighter, and the others are special moves characters that jumps in. With me so far? Good. Now instead of the tapping or swiping you have a choice of three random buttons that pop up on the bottom right of the screen. Those are your attacks, and each attack cost some stamina, which is that circle that replenishes itself after being used. It's an interesting take on in game combat but its just not my thing. I could have finished off the other player with normal tap and swipe but since the buttons appear at random it felt like it was all about the luck of the draw. Sure there were options like swipe back or forward to move away/closer to the opponent, but it just didn't fee right.

After each win you unlock certain amount of pieces for various characters. Each character has a value, and since I was at the low level the values were 10 pieces. I unlocked the Pink Ranger, who had some different skills than my Red Ranger. Of course if you wanted to spend real money for $10 you get this guy

and a bunch of upgrades. Its fine and of course I happened to come across someone who had this character and proceeded to take my lunch. After that I was done. This game at least for me wasn't worth further exploring and I uninstalled. I have no attachment to these characters so it doesn't mean much to me.

Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. Have a good week!

That's all for now, more later!

-Chris

Haha don't worry there's a couple for April. I think it makes up for March.

WWE pictures are hilarious.

Some day I'll play my Borderlands Collection. Today is not that day.

Burnout Paradise: Man, I miss Burnout games. So fun.

I didn't like MKXL as much as Injustice. Graphically superior, but Injustice had a better style to it for me. I watched Man of Steel on cable last night (well, saw parts here and there anyway) and remembered the action was actually pretty decent. Wonder how I'd feel if I watched it again. I have very mixed feelings about both that and BvS.

I remember the Power Rangers beat-em-ups on SNES and the fighting game being pretty good. Shame the mobile isn't. I'm surprised you're doing anything PR-related if you didn't watch the show to be honest.

I hope you dig B1 much more than I did. B2 is seriously my favorite out of the group. I'm surprised Burnout hasn't made an appearance on the PS4 or even the Vita. It is a perfect portable game.

You know for being made by the same folks, MK is nicer in the graphics deptartment, Injustice has a better flow, but for some reason I have better controls on MK. Combine they make one solid game. I do need to learn the moves because relying on punches and kicks with the occasional special move will only get me so far.

Watching BvS over and over again, it really isn't as bad as I orignally thought, but its not the greatest flick. I need to get hold of a copy of the director's cut so I can check out what was cut. Maybe it makes it better, maybe it adds to more of the misery, either way it something new.

I actually have a Power Rangers Playstation game that I played through awhile back, and I might have talked about it on 1Up. I forgot what you do during the level but the boss portions everybody gets into their fake Voltron robot and they fight a big monster. They probably have actual names but that's what I remember.

Everyone says Power Rangers is like Voltron, but all the fight footage is from Super Sentai in Japan, which predates Voltron by about a decade. The reason there are so many different Power Rangers is to keep with the Super Sentai tradition. They tried keeping it consistent for Mighty Morphin' specifically, but gave up after three seasons. I wouldn't know any of this without Linkara and, more recently,  Angry Video Game Nerd.

Did you know in Japan they had kids vote on whether to bring the Green Ranger back to life and when the kids voted to bring him back, the producers refused and said "you can't vote somone back to life" in order to teach kids the finality of death? At least, so I heard ...

Everyone says Borderlands 2 is better, so I guess I'm not bummed my collection doesn't have it. The other game is the Pre-Sequel I think. I kinda want the Telltale game though.

I'm looking forward to Injustice 2, cause it looks like it could combine what worked about those two games into one really great fighter.

Yeah, I want to see the director's cut out of curiousity, but it's only ever available to buy. No. F* you. Let me rent it. I refuse to buy that thing just to see 30 more minutes I'm curious about.

That's interesting about Power Rangers being older than Voltron. I always thought Voltron was older because my first Voltron toy was the Yellow Lion from Japan. I got it from a store in Hawaii and it was a year before the toys started showing up here. The one difference was that the weapons in the head and on the back actually shot the little missiles it came with. It had the spring mechanism.

I like that Japan story about the Green Ranger. It's cold, but I could see their side.

I think what's selling me on Injustice 2 is the talk about the mobile game on Reddit. Seeing some of the screens is slowly pulling me into the hype for the console version.

Not so much Power Rangers, but Super Sentai, which is where the action footage used in PR is from.

I don't understand your love of mobile games, but I wish I did. Seems like a cheaper alternative to console gaming. lol

The thing with mobile games is that there is always something new, they're free-ish, and there isn't a need to complete them. They're fun in spurts and if I get tired of them, they get erased and I don't have that feeling that I wasted money on a game.

I got to go and try Burnout Paradise again. I didn't get into it the first time, but I think I would if I kept trying. It was like that with me and Burnout Revenge. Didn't like it much the first time, but the second time I loved it.

There is a lot to do in Burnout Paradise and if you just want to drive around you can do that too. I loved Burnout Revenge, I think thats the one I played on PSP.

I so love Burnout Revenge. One or two trial races still elude me though for the complete achievements.
