It has been a very long time since my last blog. The beginning of the year was a bit rough for me up through May I had constant sinus infections/colds/allergies it was a mess. I finally opted to get sinus surgery and I am able to breathe SO much better than before and when I am congested my face does not hurt as horribly as it did before. I am still not 100% recovered but at least 50%. I should be fully recovered by mid to end of July. At least I am able to breathe normally and sleep now.
In the meantime I have been playing tons of Otome Games on my Vita, I also played some Dragon Quest Heroes 2 (which I still have not completed yet because I cannot beat the last boss – I refuse to lower the difficulty too easy). I also started playing a TON of Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind and actually not doing half bad in the game; considering I joined every faction/guild that I can with yet to pick a house to join. I did also complete Cinderella Phenomenon off Steam (it is a free game) it is an Otome game that was very well made; I could not put it down.
As a gift to myself, I also finally purchased a capture card! It has been the best investment I have ever done. I am finally able to stream my console games! I recently started streaming Suikoden and kind of walking through the game as I play through it since I have this game memorized I have played it so much. My goal is to go through ALL the Suikoden series games that I am able to, Breath of Fire is another series I am planning to do and some other random games. I am looking into adding more days for streaming and looking into doing certain days for a game like Suikoden over the weekend, breath of fire Monday and Friday, random games Wednesday. I will say the only gripe I have about streaming where I am now is that I do not have a quiet space because of three dogs and people constantly coming in and out. I have thought about trying to stream from my room but it is a small room and it will over heat fast since I only have a ceiling fan and a tower fan to circulate the air with a closed door, especially in the summer it is not so fun. Therefore, I have to suck it up with the noise and just go on mute randomly a lot. I have lowered the input noise into my microphone to have it only pick me up or try to have it only pick me up. I still have a few kinks to work out with the Elgato streaming scenes such as adding twitch alerts. For some reason, the screen flashes a white box but I am not sure if it does, it while the preview is not displayed on the software; so that is something I need to check. However, I have figured out how to get Elgato to work in OBS (thank you YouTube video tutorials).
It has been hard to plan a schedule for the summer since my July is filled up three weekends out of the five and I am looking into joining a gym to exercise with a personal trainer and other group classes and such so I am waiting to determine what weekdays I can do for streaming.
that's awesome you've been streaming! that must be fun.
That's too bad about your sinuses. But if they're okay now, that's great!
Glad you're better and it's cool you're streaming. In my case, I just want to have a nice internet connection.
I had a tough spring but summer seems to be getting a little bit better. At least I'm working now and not super depressed.
Streaming is great. I've been just sending saved video clips through Xbox and I've been getting a lot of likes from random people. I would love to stream if I could get Mark into it. It would be kind of rude of me to stream with him in the room. I'm curious about the Mixer service on XBO. I might check out some streams there when I have a moment.
I can't imagine streaming, personally. It seems like an extra layer of stress on top of playing. But if you like doing it, more power to you!
Awesome pickup on the capture card! As for YouTube, whenever I have a question about something, or need help with a project there are tons of content on there, hell a couple of weeks ago I learned how to fix a problem with my sink from a lady in Europe who had the same issue.
