I have fallen in LOVE with my Switch.
Since we last talked, I downloaded 4 SNK games onto my Switch, Shock Troopers, Garou, Blazing Star, and Metal Slug. They all look and feel right at home on the Switch. I have also played quite a bit of Mario Kart. This ends up being my first Mario Kart in quite some time, and so I have worked through all the courses on 100cc and gotten the 3 Star rank. I will move onto 150cc in the near future. My wife has even picked up the Switch and played some Mario Kart by herself. She is not a gamer, but has fond memories of playing Mario Kart 64 when she was younger.
I am still struggling with the decision of whether or not to get Destiny 2. I spent 150 hours with Destiny in the first 3 months after launch and loved nearly every minute. I want to play Destiny 2, I know that I will love it. I just have concerns that I will end up dropping off earlier than I would like. We will see how long I can hold out. I will probably end up downloading Destiny 2 later today, or tomorrow. we'll see.
Also, for some strange reason, I am not yet in the mood for Zelda.
One thing I liked about Splatoon 1 and 2 is that I could get non gamer friends and family to play it and they would catch right on straight away. And they would even win some online matches! So Splatoon 2 might be one to look into getting for the family.
definitely want splatoon 2. maybe will put it on my christmas list or something.
Zelda is pretty impressive, man.
I heard today LA Noire is coming to switch in November. Never finished it but I liked what I played. WIll definitely pick that up.
I am one of those few people who see the Rockstar logo, and I walk away. It's awesome that Rockstar is supporting the Switch, but I don't have any desire to play LA Noire.
I'm not in the mood for Horizion; so we're in similar tugboats with steam engines and a creepy face with George Carlin's voice on the front.
The way that I play games, I typically have a console game and a handheld game running at the same time. I see the switch as a handheld instead of a console. which means that I need a console game to play... which will end up being Destiny 2.
I just never get interested in these massive online FPS-focused games. I couldn't be bothered to seek out Overwatch either. I'm glad people enjoy them, but sometimes I feel left out.
Do you know if Destiny 2 will have PS4/XBO cross-play? That would get me interested, since I know a Destiny-obsessed friend with XBO. Then again, we'd have to do non-leveled matches or something, since I'm a n00b.
From everythign I have heard and read, Sony is not allowing any sort of cross-platform play.
I read that too, but saw an article indicating they might soften a bit. I know why they're doing this from a business standpoint: why distract from their market lead by allowing popular third party titles on any console when XBOX just came out with a new iteration in X? But still ... boo.
What's the Switch going to think when you see the other system. I think rampant jealousy.
I'm glad Destiny 2 PC is coming out later. It'll let me know exactly how people who were lukewarm on 1 will think of it so I know what to expect going in.
