Forza Horizon and a Mess of Downloads

I decided to take advantage of a lot of free stuff on Xbox Live today. I downloaded the new Games with Gold titles, Battlefield 3 and Oxenfree. Then I went to the free section of the store and downloaded Minecraft Story Mode Ep. 1, Dungeon Defenders II, Life is Strange, Fallout Shelter (my real reason to look at free stuff), Gwent: The Witcher Card Game, Prominence Poker (by, I think, the guys who did the Borderlands themed Poker Night on XBLA a while back - same art style), and A King's Tale: Final Fantasy XV (I love the retro look of it). Then I ignored all that while they installed and played Forza Horizon ALL DAY with Mark.

ascari

That's my favorite car in the game, the Ascari KZ1R. I have a Lambo that's faster, but I love the way this car handles.

I'm in the final stretch of the single player. I've opened gold wrist band races. I driven all the roads and found all but 2 discount signs. I've been playing on the default "medium" difficulty but I finally hit a wall and decided to just turn the opponent AI's to "easy". I didn't make the controls easy. I want to still be in control of the cars. Easy opponents is pretty easy. Now I'm clearing first place on nearly every race. I still have to play without crashing but once I'm ahead, I'm untouchable. It's almost too easy, but I just want to finish the main story and see if I can win every single race in the game. That wouldn't happen on "medium"; or, it would take a very long time.

Then I tried multiplayer and wrangled Mark into playing with me. We did a bunch of races and ranked up, collected a few achievements, and won a car. I played a few races with randos as well. They beat me pretty good, but one guy let me win at the end of a race. Not sure why really. I guess he wanted to help me out on rewards. Then we played free play co-op for a while. You have a bunch of 2 to 8 player objectives you can tackle. Mark and I did a few of them. We had to break speed records and travel in certain cars from one point on the map to another in a certain amount of time. I liked it, but I think Mark was less interested. Still, there's an achievement for completing 10 of them, so I've got something to lure Mark back in tomorrow or whenever.

Finally, I'm thinking of trading a lot of stuff in to get Forza Horizon 2 for Mark and me. I kind of what to clean house because I have a lot of stuff I'm not really using right now. I kind of hate to see it go, but maybe it's time.

Onto Sunday, funday.

I hope you dig Life is Strange. I didn't know they had a Horizon 2. Sweet.

that's a pretty sweet car, man. My brother who doesn't play video games except for the the occasional racing game wants me to fet Forza so he can race the car he owns in real life, a Fiat Spider.  If I get an Xbox One X, which I'm planning to do eventually, maybe he'll get his wish.

I saw a car today that I thought was an Ascari, but it was just a black Ferarri, I'm pretty sure.

I don't see many ferrari's, but I see some porsches around here, and one day I saw a Tesla.

I saw a very nice Porsche today that might have been in the game.
