Well, it looks like Nerds Without Pants is reaching the end of Chrono Crossing. I didn't consistently participate in it, and I regret that. But I enjoyed talking about my favorite games of every year. Brought back a lot of memories.

This is awesome. Our top games rarely match up, but in most cases you picked my second or third favorite game of the year each year.
There are a lot of great games on that list and I agree with most of them. The early arcade games you mention I was more of a watch someone else play type. My first machine was a C64 so text adventures like Hitchhikers Guide and games like Archon and BC's Quest for Tires were my earliest home games.
Oh and I'm even older than James so yeah get off my lawn!
I've played all three of those games. I played them on our Atari computer. I played Hitchhiker's Guide before I read the book. When my sister got me the book at the age of 10, the game made a lot more sense. I also played the sequel to Archon, though it was a bit more esoteric and the computer was really hard to beat. I also played a number of computer games that came from the UK, like Breath of the Dragon and Jet Boot Jack.
I actually did not know that. I started out on 1UP.com when I was in my late 20s. I'm now coming up on my 40th birthday in January. Looks like we'll all be chasing kids off our lawns soon enough.
Your taste is impeccable. I can't argue with any of those. My own list would be very different because I played different games. I was exposed to other stuff. I hardly knew about Final Fantasy or Zelda back in the 90s.
I don't know if I can remember a game every year that I've lliked. Although ever since the year...2000...I want to say., I've archived my Game of the Year blogs and I can go from there. I'm not right now because I'm lazy, but I could do it. Any year before that would take some doing. Maybe next year during a slow blog idea time, I can do that, maybe. The first video game I can remember playing was Pac-Man. Actually I played Pong before that, but I didn't realize that was a video game when I played it.
I might do something like this as well, since I missed so many.
When I saw the title, I thought this would just be dedicated to Chrono Crossing the game and that would be your favorite game for every year ... including the 80s, somehow.
