I got to chasing achievements again in Minecraft, this time in the Bedrock Edition recently added to Xbox One.
I got a lot of easy achievements in this version but then I got hung up on the Rainbow Collection one. This tasks you with what I thought was dying 16 pieces of wool every color possible, but it was really just collecting all 16 in whatever way you could in a chest. Thinking I had to dye them all, I collected dyes first and ran all over the map and three other maps trying to find cactus in a desert biome and cocoa in a jungle biome. I never found the jungle but Mark found a brown sheep and gave me that last color I needed.
Well, it took a bunch of time but I learned the new mechanics for map making. Apparently you have to add more paper to zoom out farther. This was standard proceedure on the PC version, but I never had to do it until now on the Xbox version. The game tells you nothing of how to do anything, so I had to look it up. At least I got some new ideas about how to get the Map Room achievement much quicker than I did last time I got it on the old version of the game.
that's a lot of dye.
I wish I could dye everything in the game. I'll dye, dye, dye it all.
I recall a song by Man-O-War, Kill with Power. I'd rename it Dye with Power and scream, "dye! dye! dye!", just as they do, but with the new meaning.
I can't be the only one who heard N'Sync while reading the title?...I'll see myself out.
Wait you can dye wood? So the train tracks you were making (I'm reading newer to older in the blogs) you could have rainbow train tracks?
Naw, can't dye wood. So dumb. Why can't I paint stuff? You can dye leather, and wool, and now make concrete with dyes. I need a paint mixer or something like that to paint the walls. And I totally want to paint the walls. Oh yea, you can make carpet and dye that. I did that once to completely change my house. Oh, and you can dye glass to make tinted glass. Together they made one freaky house.
I really want a full set of train cars: engine, cars, and caboose.
