Good morning Pixlpeeps! I had a blog all ready to go on Friday but I scrapped it because I didn’t like it. I was going to do another on Saturday but didn’t so here we are. Instead of what I was playing, I will just do my Quick Hits because you don’t want to read about my exploits on NCAA Football 14 (Season 4 of the Duke Blue Devils and they are ranked #12 with a 4-0 record, and beating #8 Miami on a last second two point conversion), or how I got some PC games running including GTA V (I was running around with zero wanted level causing mayhem), so this QH will be all about voting! I’m kidding, and let’s be real we have all had enough of the constant ads, unwanted texts, and Chris trolling calls so instead let’s check out what Chris has been doing non gaming wise this week.

Chris Listens To…

So I’ve been adding CDs to iTunes. So far I finished one CD book of Pop, one book of Rap, and yesterday I finished one CD book of Christmas music. Each book is supposed to hold 300 but since I keep the CD books inside with the discs, and some albums have two discs, I would like to say maybe 150 albums each as an estimate.

01

I bumped Christmas music up because this is what I wanted to have living on my phone while I re-rip my CDs.

02

In the meantime while I am doing this, for my regular music, I have a slowly updating playlist of all music going on my phone but at the same time I just downloaded my 90s playlist from my Spotify account so I have that living on the phone until I can get my CDs all ripped, rated, and ready to go.

03

Speaking of Spotify, and voting, Spotify created playlists based on your state to listen to for voting season. I browsed through the playlist and I think I will stay with my Murs - Murs for President album as music to listen to while voting.

Chris Recaps Halloween…

My goal this season was to have at least 10 kids visit. My street isn’t into Halloween so there’s no decorating, and to be fair a couple of my neighbors are still in Canada, so it’s real quiet. Across the park is another street where a couple of houses are really into decorating so they get a ton of people. Anyways I got 12 kids this year, zero kids said Trick or Treat and then proceeded to walk inside the house (last year I had a three year old do this and it was hilarious). One of the best was another two or three year old who kept saying “trick treat.” She made her way to the front of the little pack she was in and was holding a little paper bag, the kind you put a ring box in. I think I made her night when I opened up her bag and then proceeded to fill the dang thing with candy. She zoomed off while her older siblings were yelling for someone to watch her.

All the kids were excited when I handed them handfuls of candy. I got the bug eyed kids and a couple of “Oh WOW” and a lot of “Thank You, and Happy Halloween.” Easily the best costume was a kid dressed as a taco, who said “Halloween maybe Wednesday but don’t forget Taco Tuesday.” I’m thinking next Halloween I become that house and buy full size candy bars.

Pickups!

Games

This was a freebie I saw on Reddit

It went free for a couple of days so it is currently sitting on my phone and iPad.

Music

From Target I bought this album

05

I do love Christmas Music, and Pentatonix is pretty good.

Yesterday from the local Mom & Pop I bought these albums for $20

Buy 5 Get 3 for free for $1.99 each. I decided to start working on an R.E.M. collection for my 90s stuff, I finally found The OC Chrismukkah album because I love that show and I think I’m missing only one album to complete the discography, and more Christmas music!

On my way out I spot the box of freebies is back and full so I spend a couple of minutes grabbing some freebies

I think I got some decent stuff.

Hot Wheels

From Walmart they brought back the dump bin and cracked opened a new case so I found new cars

17

I finally found the Cruella De Vil car that everyone of Reddit was finding. I also found the Hot Wheels fantasy Batmobile. I still can’t find the Despicable Me car, but I’ll keep looking.

Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. Have a good week and tomorrow go vote. You get a sticker! My local voting spot gives out garbage stickers.

That’s all for now, more later!

I'm not seeing anything come up on my Desktop Spotify app when I search "Texas Midterms Playlist." Bummer.

That sucks, it would have been interesting to see what other states had in their playlist.

I'm sure Willie Nelson would pop up on mine since there was that whole concert he did with Beto O'Rourke people went crazy over, whether cheering or booing depending on partisan affiliation.

I'm still curious as well. Maybe I can find it.

I voted the first day of early voting, and I got a sticker!

I only got about 15 trick or treaters this year.  But then, we did have some rain here and there, so that probably caused some of that low.  There were only 3 kids in costume, though.  A little girl dressed as a ladybug, a Mario, and an Optimus Prime.  Although two of the kids were grandkids of a friend I used to work with.  They dressed as Batgirl and Wonder Woman.  Those two got special bags full of stuff, which is good since that's the only Halloween treats they got, thanks to the storms.

I like voting on Tuesday so I can complain about the lack of voter turnout. There was a couple of early voting spots here including at the local mall.

Optimus Prime costume must have been cool.

You should start your own radio station and sell it to some retailer to use in their stores.

I got all of 0 trick or treaters mainly because I was in apartments the whole time. I did see some fireworks someone was shootting off nearby though. Seems kind of out of place on Halloween, though.

Haha that would be kind of fun, and my music is kind of random.

Fireworks at Halloween does sound odd.

My maintenance guy in my building did just that. He set up his own radio station. It extends a few miles from the building. He just runs his record collection from a hard drive somewhere and has it hooked up to a low gain antenna, probably on the roof, although I've never seen it. Very rarely does he talk on the station too.

That is awesome. I wonder if other folks in the area listen to his broadcast.

I keep telling people I know about it. He has a facebook page for it.

We haven't been listening to Christmas music QUITE yet. We usually start thanksgiving morning, which I know is still early, but that's how we roll.

12 kids isn't bad. Kids really love candy. I can't really eat it anymore, too sweet.

I wait all year for Christmas music. In high school when I went looking at colleges and got accepted to U of Arizona, we took a trip to Tucson and found a random radio station that played Christmas music. It was Spring Break. Good times.

I wish I could eat Snickers again. That's the only candy bar I miss. Stupid allergies.
