I encountered my first boss in Etrian Odyssey Nexus, the Blossombeast. I rolled it with auto-battle and won. It took longer than a regular fight but I didn’t get damaged too much.
I want to know how this auto-battle works. Will my characters use their special attacks? I’d like to set tactics but I didn’t see any option to do that. I’ll probably keep going with auto-battle until I see my characters taking serious damage, then I’ll step in and fix things.
My mission was to map the first level, so I continued on after the boss. I came across a Geomagnetic Field that teleported me to out to the world map and revealed a new island. I stayed on the one I was on to finish the map for the Princess.
Once I'd handed in the map to the Princess, the Compendium was unlocked, and I could log everything I had seen for the Princess. I checked the bar for side quests. There were none. I went to the shop and forge upgraded several weapons with matterials I’d harvested from monsters. Then I sold the rest of the gory mess and bought new gear. Finally, I went to the Inn and activated Street Pass so I could share and receive Guild Cards, which allow you to use other people’s characters. Then I slept/saved. Just another day in EON.
I feel guilty not commenting but I really have nothing to add here ...
No problem.
Oh man, I added this to my Amazon cart last night. I'm not sure if I'm going to buy it, but I am thinking about it!
I'm so glad there is someone doing Wizardry still. I heard on GameInformer's podcast today that the game has a lot of dungeons, maybe more than any other Etrian Odyessy so far. That's saying a lot because the other ones were long games too. I never finished any of them.
They also said this might be the last 3DS Etrian Odyessy and that the next one might be for Switch.
I get having auto attacks, and their uses but I agree with your next blog about playing the actual attack. It is nice to just go auto on fights you don't want to deal with. I like that you can use Street Pass in this game. I wish the Switch had something like that.
We'll see if I get any Street Passes at all at this point, but sometimes I bring the system to the library I work at and see what happens. I also bring it to Barnes & Noble sometimes. They have a Spot Pass there.
