Blog a Day #11
Hello everyone, how are ya? Continuing from where we left off, here are the rest of the Switch games I'm looking forward to this year. I saved the best for last.
Bayonetta 3: I think this is the second time this game has appeared in one of my Blog a Day posts. I'm hoping this doesn't become another Breath of the Wild where it was pretty much a recurring game every year till it released. We haven't heard of anything about Bayonetta 3 ever since it was teased. I hope this isn't another situation where the game is anounced too early and then suddenly development changes happen, which we'll get on to later in this post.
Daemon X Machina: I first thought this was XCX2 when they first showed it off last year. Thing is the mechs in this game look like the Skells, mechs that you can use in XCX. But regardless, the trailer for the game looked so damn good. I'm a huge fan of robots and mechs, bonus points if they transform. Looks like you can customize your mechwith different weapons and it even hs online play. I don't know if this will be a launch game I'll get, but I'm definitely looking forward to it.
Dragon Quest Builders 2: I got the first game on the Switch as a recommendation, I really can't say more on it since the game will show up in a future post. I will say that it's really fun, but again, can't really say more till later. DQB2 is said to improve upon the original DQB game. One big change being that you can play online with other people which sounds like it will be a super fun time. It's supposed to release in the west this year but so far no clear release date. This is definitely a priority and will try getting it at launch.
Luigi's Mansion 3: Nintendo kicked off a Nintendo Direct last year with this being one of the games that started that Direct. It was such a surprise announcement and they even showed footage. The game looks really fun. I don't know what is it with Luigi and haunted locations, I mean if he's scared then why does he keep going to them? Well it doesn't matter as long as the games are fun. It looks like the structure for this one will focus on a single location like the original game. This time you are in a pretty big hotel. It looks like you have to make your way to the top. Or maybe you have to get to the first floor and escape? Still so many unanswered questions but you can bet I'll be playing this.
Pokemon Generation 8: If you know me well, then you know this one was coming. My most anticipated game(s) this year and for a variety of reasons. First thing is that it will be the very first mainline game in the series developed for a home console. Unless you count Pokemon Let's Go, which was a great game by the way. Second, since this is on a console, that means they'll be able to do things that they couldn't before on a handheld. Plus the Switch doubles as a handheld, so they can still keep the portability the series is known for. I've seen some rumors on it and some claim that it will be on the same level as Breath of the Wild. Imagine that if true. If the map is like that and they combine the wild Pokemon mechanic from Let's Go, then that would be amazing. I feel like this is the most ambitious Pokemon game yet. There is a lot riding on this. But we'll have to wait and see till they finally show the game. Honestly I can't wait for this. I'm super excited for it, honestly that doesn't even begin to describe it.
Honorable Mention:
Metroid Prime 4: I'm sure you know this by now but Metroid Prime 4 got delayed. Not just delayed but the whole game was scrapped and development will start from scratch, with Retro Studios being the ones Involved this time. I am disappointed that it got delayed, since restarting development means it will be a while since we hear from it again, and that could take years. Question is, why didn't Nintendo let Retro work on it in the first place? I know most of the team behind the previous Prime games left, but apparently Retro made a build that impressed Nintendo. I'm really disappointed but at least Prime 4 is at capable hands and being developed by the people who should of worked on it in the first place. But expect this to be a recurring game like Breath of the Wild was in my blogs. This won't be the last time that you'll hear of it here.

I never played the 3DS Luigi's Mansion, but I do have a soft spot for the Gamecube original.
I was honestly pretty skeptical when the only thing revealed about Metroid Prime 4 was a title card.
I say good Nintendo for being forthcoming about the current status of Metroid Prime 4. At least we know that they aren't trying to silently kill the series or something.
Luigi's Mansion 3 is my most anticipated Switch title. Metroid Prime 4 is in 2nd because there's literally nothing we know about it haha.
Definitely Luigi's Mansion 3. I hope it's a return to form from the first game. I liked the second game, don't get me wrong, but I'd rather have one big mansion to explore rather than small mini mission based mansions.
Little disappointed about Metroid Prime 4. But hopefully we'll get a good game out of it whenever. it was rumored that Namco was working on it originally. Hope this doesn't cause any ill will from Namco and NIntendo.

Yesterday I was in a pub and this kid comes in with his dad and he's playing the Switch. He's banging it on the table in frustration and his dad is trying to keep him from breaking it. Ha.
I am very interested in Daemon X Machina. That first trailer really sold me on it. I'm also looking forward to Bloodstained, which should be out this year. Fingers crossed.
