Well good morning Pixlpeeps! So this week I for BaD I thought it would be fun to cover my favorite cover songs and I started with this one
Which is a cover of The Flaming Lips
Apparently I found one of the songs that doesn’t exist on YouTube, which is odd.
So last week I played a couple of games, no Titanfall, because I wasn’t in the mood, but I did try out my new Switch game and I may have sprinkled in some other games, let’s see if I can remember while I am writing this entry.
NBA 2K18 - Switch
Now I’ve played a ton of this game on Steam and when the reviews were released about the Switch version it mentioned how terrible it was. Now this shouldn’t be a shock because a lot of the sports games on the Switch have poor reviews so I stayed away. Eventually I started to come back to this game was because it was portable, there is still no Madden on Switch, and I like the game of basketball. This game hit the $20 budget wall at Walmart and I took a chance.
Yes I know the shooting is bad, it’s nowhere near the 60FPS of the Steam version, and the graphics might look last gen but at this point I didn’t care, I wanted a sports game that I could enjoy. Well after playing the first game in Franchise mode and getting my lunch handed to me I realized that I would need to adjust my play style of wild, little to no strategy (this is a lie, but I have a theme from a previous blog) to get used to the controls, and the timing of shooting. What throws me off the most still is the button layout of the Switch compared to the 360 controller I use on Steam. Jump from console to console playing the same game and hit X, you’ll understand.
Graphics are not that bad with the exception of the undershirt of one of the players on my team. It seems to look like he has holes in his shirt because the skin tones around the collar seem to appear in random spots. Everything else seems to work the same. Also before playing the actual game I guess you have to download the actual game
Hey Nintendo, The Playstation Store thinks your download speeds are slow
I took time to start a franchise with the New York Knicks and started with offseason first to get some draft picks, sign some big name players (cap off because there is no way I want to deal with 4 year contracts that are back loaded and try to move a diva and try to have the cap hits match both teams), and sign a coaching staff. Once I adjusted to the game, it really isn’t that bad. The screen might be a little small but I bought the Switch to be portable not a home console. I don’t have access to the server that let’s the player upload logos and jerseys to be used as custom teams because 2K19 is out but other than that we are good.
Disney Emoji Blitz - iOS
Blitz celebrated Chinese New Year by giving away a freebie pig emoji (left). Since I already have them I got coins and I think a power-up. The weekend event was Robin Hood themed and it offered a new emoji (right)
In other games, I played more of my car game on the iPad and I am a race or two away from unlocking the next track. In chess I’m starting to beat the newly adjusted difficulty consistently. I have found that the AI will sacrifice their queen to take out a bishop that is covered by a pawn. It’s a small price to pay when I can then stack my rooks and force a checkmate.
Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. It is time for some Hot Chocolate because it is California Cold (48° currently).
That’s all for now, more tomorrow!

thats too bad about the 2K port. Sounds you’re enjoying it though. I would probably buy madden for switch.
Yeah it would be nice if they actually put some effort into their releases, but at least it isn't totally broken. Here's hoping this year we will finally get Madden on the Switch.
I've been listening to a lot of Flaming Lips in the past year or so.
I've been hot and cold with their music. Some periods I really dig it, while others I'll hit skip.
I'm sort of that way with them too.
