My thoughts about Dark Souls and From Software in general include: "Man, I should really keep playing Bloodborne, among other games I've barely started, like Witcher III and (more like halfway through in this case) Horizon: Zero Dawn."

This concludes my thoughts on Dark Souls. 

Well, you've played more Horizon than me. Witcher 3 is very good, but very long. Witcher 3 is one of my favorite endless games really.

I haven't played Bloodborne, but I have it and plan to. About Dark Souls... they are very good games, but not for me. I put some time in on the first one, and I played a bit of Demons Souls. I liked them both, but I just don't have the patience for them. 

I think you can still enjoy watching playthroughs and speedruns and some articles about the game and it's systems and still enjoy it on that level. It certainly isn't for impatient players. 

No.  I just don’t have that sort of concentration with games anymore. Wish I did. 

Dark Souls 3 is actually my favorite. I felt like it was the perfect blend of Bloodborne and Dark Souls. Opinions on it seem divisive, but I really loved it, especially the PVP.

That said, you should totally check out Sekiro. It feels like the first time playing a Soulsborne game and there's a fresh learning curve/system to master. I totally loved it and can't wait to play a third time and get closer to that Platinum.

I liked the return to the medieval castle themes of demons/dark1. I liked all the available weapons builds and customization, etc. Some of the boss fights were just wildly creative. I think after Dark Souls 2 had such an odd creative turn in terms of layout and story, then bloodborne came out of no where--expecting you to play without a shield, and then DS3 went back to the beginning again, but I was expecting something new and different. I guess theres only so much you can do with that original setting. What do you think of the DS3 complete with DLC compared to previous games? DS3 certainly looks better and plays smoother than previous games.  

Sekiro is one I'm holding out on. It's going to be interesting playing it after all the hype and the community has moved on to something else. I just remember people still playing Demon's Souls forever after it launched and Dark Souls 1 as well. Everything after just kind of came and went, except Bloodborne, but I don't thing Bloodborne had the same longevity that the originals Demons/Souls 1 had. 

The DLC for 3 was super fantastic. Gael and Sister Friede might be two of the best fights of the series. Plus they brought back a boss fight that involves other players like in Demon's Souls. The settings and lore were just great. It's tough to top The Old Hunters DLC, which is still my favorite Soulsborne DLC, but the complete version of 3 was just great.

For what it's worth, I played Souls 3 no shield. I think Bloodborne just demonstrated how that's the way to really play and I've gone back since and played all of the games without shields and it just makes those experiences so much better.

Sekiro was also a divisive game because it was hard as hell to learn, but once you did, it just felt so good. It reminded me of learning Souls games for the first time. Super satisfying and a really solid experience.

I might be an outlier, but I pretty much haven't stopped playing all of these From games since I first picked up Dark Souls.

I love the setting of the Souls games but I can never stay with them. Too hard. I wish for a cheat code or something so I can see all the art and environments and experience the story free of grinding difficulty. I want someone to make a movie based on the series.
