I saw this in the news today, and I'm totally psyched. I've been wanting to play this series ever since I played the DS versions of Mythology and Age of Kings, which I still have.

I also noticed the Baldur's Gate I & II Definitive Editions coming to Xbox in September. Not sure if they'll be on Game Pass, but I'll be sure tempted to buy them if not. I remember playing Baldur's Gate way back in the early 2000s. My friend Mark and I tried to set up a network to play it together -  that and Diablo II. I think we got it working for a little while. I had my new brother-in-law come over and try his networking expertise on it. We tried a server based network if I recall. It was tricky. Then consoles got the online gaming down and we forgot about networking completely. I'm so glad these old PC games are coming to consoles. I can't wait to play them again, or for the first time.

These are this month's releases. When I saw DMC 5 on the list I was hoping it was on PC too. Oh well.

Oh, ok. AoE is PC only. Rats. I think Baldur's Gate will be on console though.

Speaking of Age of Empires, back when I first started writing for The Dallas Morning News, back in 1996, a relative of mine knew someone who just started their own company in Dallas making games.  This company was called Ensemble Studios, and they invited me to visit them to check out their new game they were working on.  It was called Age of Empires, and they hadn't even found a publisher yet, but they said, "We're thinking about Microsoft."  Smart move, I thought.  Anyway, once the games came out I reviewed a few of them at the newspaper.

Wow! Awesome! I became such a huge fan of those games after I played the DS ports, of all things. I haven't played any of them on PC yet.

when I lived in San Francisco, my roommate and I set up a network just to play Age of Empires. We got such great joy from that. Such a fun game, especially when you're playing against a friend.

That sounds great. I always played similar games like Warcraft solo.
