Now that FF 14 is going free... up to level 60 and including Heavensward DLC-- which is like two JRPGs back to back-- and a very good FF game IMO.
who is planning on playing for the first time or starting over again? I am going to play again from the beginning. I wouldn't mind bumping in to some of you if you plan on trying it. Or if you're already playing, which server are you on in case I need help doing dungeons?
I recommend everybody try the game at least. Seems they streamlined a lot of the cluttered quests in the beginning of the game a lot of people found tedious.
**Note: I believe the new Free to play starter edition with new level cap patch starts Aug 11.
I had FFXIV on PS3 back when A Realm Reborn was released. I enjoyed it, but MMORPGs kind of tend to get me bogged down, and I want to play other types of games.
I think FF14 is different than other MMOs in that it does have game design equivalent to a single player jrpg, or rather, rpgs that have MMO like designs like Xenoblade or Dragon Age Inquisition or FF12 and FF15. I think I got to the level cap of the original game in like 1 or 2 months of just playing occasionally and on weekends. I mostly leveled by grinding dungeons.
I dunno if it's my jam, but certain people talk about it enough I feel compelled to free trial it at least.
In the past I didnt play it enough to justify paying a monthly subscription, but they are offering a lot of game content for free here. I would want to play with you if you ever decide to try it out.
If it's on Xbox, which I think it might be, I'll try it at least.
I think it was rumored to launch on xbox one this year. Possibly gamepass game.

I'm considering it. I played this when Realm Reborn came out, and I really liked it, but got distracted by something else, and then there was that montly fee. But this might be too good to pass up.
Im hoping to see more pixlbit people in the game. Let me know if you ever decide to play. I think dungeons start at around lvl 17.
I downloaded it on my PS4 a a few weeks ago. I do plan on getting into it for the first time pretty soon. Just need to finish Persona 4 and FF7 Remake.
Maybe you'll put out a blog with impressions of the game. I played the the first version of the game before it was remade, then restarted A Realm Reborn and stopped before the expansions. The subscription put me off the game really. I am playing FF12 right now so it will lead into FF14 very nicely since its very similar in design.
Yeah, subscriptions are what keep me away from any game. The fear is that ill be continually paying for something that I might not play often enough for it to be worth the price.
When it comes to Xbox One, I'll try it.
