I mostly played on PS4 today trying to get through my physical game collection so I can sell off anything I'm not totally thrilled about. But, I managed a little Xbox One play too.
Bloodborne: This was very much a retake on Demon's Souls in a different setting. You even die once before the true game begins, just like in Demon's Souls. I swear, though, I couldn't figure out how to get my character to use weapons. I had some. They were there in my inventory seemingly equipped, but I couldn't get the character to use them in the world. I don't know what I may have missed, but the right buttons did nothing. I got tired of figuring it out. A bit of a shame, really. Perhaps I'll try again in digital form another time.
Killzone: Shadow Fall: This game is so wonderful to look at. I got a fair bit into the game too, using my drone to attack, hack, and zipline my way around. I found it a bit too tactical, requiring stealth more than brute force. I wasn't having that today, so I moved on.
Ni No Kuni II: I was really into this today. I acquired the kingmaker and began chapter 3 before I had to stop for the day. I'm liking the battle system. I like activating the higglies (is that right?) to attack for me. That's fun. I'll be playing more of this next week for sure.
Farm Together: Whenever PS4 wanted to update something, I switched to Xbox One to do maintenance on my farm. I'm chugging along pretty nicely now. I have enough crops to keep the money flowing to help me complete quests. I'm building autobahns to get around. I'm getting my groove going. Hopefully I'll make it to the final achievement this time, probably weeks down the road.
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time: I've been trying to replay this at odd moments, but it's slow going due to time limitations. I really love this game a lot.

Well, I like getting stuck, because then I can go try something new. Also, if you know how to draw a weapon in Bloodborne, let me know. It's so boring looking things up. I'd rather hear it from a person.
Never played BB myself. I assumed it had the summon signs you could click on for instructions, like the Souls games.
I like getting stuck, but only on adventure game puzzles. In an action game it's slightly infuriating because it kills forward momentum
Yeah, I clicked like every summon sign I saw. I must've missed something, but yeah, once I broke my forward momentum by not being able to beat the first werewolf with my hands, I kind of stopped. I have so many games on my list right now. I just can't take time to look up solutions anymore. I love the vibe of it though so I will return.
Video games, especially downloadable only ones, should really have more explicit instructions included. I just finished reviewing a cooking game but I couldn't get very far because I couldn't figure out how to buy new dishes. Piss poor instructions was the problem.
I played through a good majority of the first Ni no Kuni game. But it got way too long and meandering so I stopped. I never tried the sequel for that reason, but they changed the battle system so I don't know if I'd like it that much.
Partners in Time is one of the weaker entries in the Mario & Luigi series. The babies are adorable, though. SPOILER ALERT: It's so sad when Baby Luigi has to go back to his own time at the end and he doesn't want to leave.
I figure I should be able to do all the basic functions of a game in the first hour or so. If not, something is wrong with the game.
I played the first Ni No Kuni too, but I couldn't get very far with that battle system. Ni No Kuni II is much easier to manage.
I've beaten Partners in Time before, but it's been a while. I probably love it because it's easier than the other ones and I got through it all. I like it when I can finish a game.
I can't decide which Mario & Luigi game is the easiest. I would say the first one, but the last boss is very hard. Partners in Time had you keeping track of four buttons instead of two, since you controlled both Mario & Luigi and the babies, and I always had a hard time with that. But I've beaten all the Mario & Luigi games except for Dream Team, because that one just got too long and meandering and boss battles took my whole entire lunch hour to beat! Way too long for bosses, I think.
I have a fond memory of renting Partners and completing it. I had it from Gamefly and bought the game afterward. I still need to finish the first one and Inside Story, which I have.
Bowser's Inside Story is the best Mario & Luigi game. In fact, I'd say it's probably the second best Mario RPG ever, only right behind Thousand Year Door.
Wow! That's big putting it so close to Thousand-Year Door, which is one of my favorite games ever. I know I played a few hours of Inside Story a while back. I'll have to revisit it.
I really liked Ni No Kuni 2, but I got distracted from it. I'd like to get back to it.
I have Bloodborne, but I've never tried it. I'd like to though.
I love the vibe in Bloodborne, all that creepiness and macabre creatures. I'll try it again sometime for sure when I'm less impatient.
I really enjoyed that Kill Zone game. It was the most fun I had with a Kill Zone since maybe the Vita, and PSP games. I may have either given it away to a cousin or kept it (no idea at this point)
If you have a Switch check Walmart for Ni No Kuni. My cousin got one for $10 because of a pricing error on the shelf, maybe you might have the same error at your store.
As for what I played the usual: Madden and Retro Bowl.
It's actually pretty good, but it told me to transform my assault rifle to a sniper rifle and then I immediately forgot what button did that. I couldn't change it back when I needed to. I was quite impatient that day. I'll likely play it again sometime. It was the game that got me to buy a PS4 with those amazing waterfalls coming out of the city.
I have Ni No Kuni on PS3. I'll love to try it again and see if I can get a handle on the battle system that frustrated me last time.
I'm going to play MLB The Show on PS4 sometime soon. I miss playing sports games sometimes.
